Dimpled the tops of the IRS toe link tapered studs so I could press them out with a two-jaw puller AKA the Pitman Arm Puller. I'm the middle of doing a bumpsteer alignment.
Never smack the top of the tapered stud with a hammer, you'll mushroom the threads. And don't put a nut on the threads and hammer it thinking you're going to save the threads, either. This is the only way to do it. Now, spindles typically have 'flats' on them to strike a hammer on in hopes of getting the tapered stud to dislodge just from shock only (you can see this from one of the pictures). If this happens for you, great. If not, the puller tool is the only way.
