My 94 GT came with a flowmaster american thunder too, super 44 mufflers. I couldn't tolerate the drone on the highway.. switched out for a pypes catback and it's not necessarily quieter but drone is reduced by ~80% subjectively.
Had a very similar experience with my red car. Switched from the O/R H and flowmasters to O/R X and Bassani catbacks. Quieter in general cruising and significantly less drone. WOT is probably equal. Exhaust note is wayyyyyyy wayyy smoother

Flowmasters are notorious for drone. My '94GT had them on it when I got it - way too loud. I was dang near deaf when I got it home after the interstate drive. Switched to Borla Pro XS and the drone was non-existant.

Did you buy those Bassani headers new? Those have fantastic ground clearance, I loved them on my green car. Wish I kept them.
Yes I did. Every part I put on the car was brand new.

The part that sits shockingly low is the Stifflers K-Member brace. That hangs basically dead even to the same height as my X-Pipe which I did not expect.

Mine were all rotten when I removed them. Hockey puck sized baffles were falling out of them. The volume didn't bother me with the top down but in winter driving with the top up was deafening

Yeah that is shockingly low. The midlengths are great though. Don't have to worry about your header collectors being oil pan savers

Finally got the GMC engine job done. Ran really good, no leaks, no codes. Gave it back to the owner. Then, he calls me a day later and said it died going to his house. He said transmission was shifting funny (auto) and acted like no fuel at times. Load up my fuel pressure tested and spark tester and headed out. First thing I ask is does it have fuel in the tank, which he said yes, 3/4 tank full. Connect my pressure tester to fuel line, have him start and it barely gets to 20psi and when I rev it, drops less. Told him the pump is dead, or close to it. Towed him to his house and did the "tilt-bed" version of pump replacement. Easiest pump replacement I've done without dropping the tank, plus it had 25gal of fuel I'd have to remove first. Now it has 60psi and runs like a top again. Hope I don't have anymore calls. I quit!!

Engine just after finishing test run. Just had intake cover and hood to install. Ran good, smooth like butta'

Two days later this happened. Did the "tilt-bed" version to remove pump. Easiest job on the truck. Luckily his bed was empty.

Someone was in here before. One fuel clip was gone (return line) so we had to make a parts run to get a new one. Job was easy peasy! From barely 20psi to 60psi. Took two hours including trip to parts store.

We are on the reinstall side, it came apart like gravy - the new joint is spinning and jacking it up to put more pressure on the taper wasn’t enough. I wasn’t prepared with a 1-5/16” wrench so heading to town now to grab breakfast and snag that. It’ll be back together shortly.

Just had to replace a cam position sensor and BOV on the '16 3.5EB. Cam sensor was easy - 5 minutes. The BOV was another story. It's mounted to the cold side charge air pipe and behind it. I had to take the pipe loose to get to the second bolt holding it on. All good now. Also helped my son change a flat this morning.
