Completed the air/fuel/intake project that snowballed of course! Nice to finally put that to rest. Cleaned, polished and clearcoat treated the BBK filter and inlet tubing. Did a little rust treatment work across the lower radiator support brace. While underneath, I noticed a decent amount of oil dribble coming from the oil pressure gauge sending unit at the front of the oil pan. Before I ask how to fix, I will save that for its own thread in the ‘94-‘95 Forum specifically.

Very helpful pic, thx! Looking to get smaller profile mufflers. How’s the sound/noise level of the SLP LM1’s?
The car came with a flowmaster American Thunder Catback but there was some evidence of the muffler case making contact with the driveshaft which is why I went with the smaller profile as well. The LM1s are very loud but I like it. Much less drone than before. The thing I love about the SLP Catback is it's setup to swap out mufflers at will. They make quieter mufflers you can swap in with a couple bolts, or you can also get any round style muffler of the same/similar length and swap them in as well. So if I ever got tired of the sound it's an easy/cheap swap.

My 94 GT came with a flowmaster american thunder too, super 44 mufflers. I couldn't tolerate the drone on the highway.. switched out for a pypes catback and it's not necessarily quieter but drone is reduced by ~80% subjectively.

back when the weather was cold I realized one of the bad points of a nice big touch screen is if you wear gloves. Even if they are the touch screen type it seems like your fingers are 2x as wide and finding the right spot to touch is impossible. Because of this I read that they offer a heated wheel in canada for the impreza so I decided to add one to my car. I had to replace the clock spring to add the wiring needed and it took a little while to find the one that was needed and the work also got delayed with further family health issues. I finally got all the parts and put it in but now I am getting some warning lights coming on and trying to sort them out....
The other problem with those gloves is whatever they put on the finger tips to make the touch screen work wears off and eventually, and rather quickly, they just become another pair of regular gloves.

I am hoping that after a quick online search that this is true:
When you disconnect the battery on a 2024 Subaru Impreza, power to the EyeSight control module is completely cut, which resets the system's baseline memory. It often needs a little time and specific driving conditions to "re-shake" with the other computers and re-establish its lane-centering and pre-collision parameters.
I will wait till fresh light in the morning to take it for a drive and see if it turns on as well as to hopefully power up the heated wheel. Figures the first time I turn it on is the week after I switched to ac huh? What can I say takin care of mom has been a full time job for two of us. It would be nice if my brother would help but it does not seem all that convenient for him.

Installed the MGW shifter. I haven't driven it yet, but rowing through the gears in the garage feels a bit smoother than the SR shifter did. I'll see tomorrow how it drives.
Removal and installation had a bit of complication, somehow the shifter base sits now closer towards the firewall than it was before. So close, that I couldn't put a socket on the front two bolts, I had to use an open-end wrench.

Between the two photos the entine and transmission mounts and the clutch and flywheel were replaced by a shop. Probably the mounts have placed the whole engine/tranny an inch forward? Is this something that happens commonly?

I'm swapping motor mounts right now and there is about half an inch of play in the broken ones front to back. Then some aftermarket mounts have elongated holes that could account for another 16th. Trans mount appears to also have an 8th of "adjustment to it. I'm not saying that is it, but saying it is definitely possible.

The parts car motor is about ready to go into my kids car. He is just waiting on valve cover and oil filter adapter gaskets. Someone had recently done a timing kit so saved a couple bucks there. There was a pound of RTV on every surface that took a long ass time to remove. The entire oil and block mating surface, oil filter adapter, the double intake manifold gaskets, timing cover, rear main seal housing and anywhere else they thought it would help. The oil pick up tube screen also had a nice coating of RTV because why not.

That $500 parts car continues to pay itself off in spades and the blown motor car turned out to have a new Exedy clutch and lite weight flywheel. Also glad both cars had 8 bolt cranks.

Not a Mustang but I pulled the interior out of this 40 year old Raider to clear away a lot of gross stuff. It's been sitting under a tree with windows open for a very long time, kind of a basket case but it's a car from my childhood so I couldn't say no to the project.. doubt I'll have it done before 2030.
I'm waiting for a warranty service to be done on a part for my Mustang so I'm working on what I can in the meantime.
