long story short: i find 1994-1998 mustangs to be 16second cars. low 14s on a PI Swap. so, thats what im putting him at.

not going to explain further, because all the old folks on the forum have heard me blab about it before and they'll just face-palm "not this again."
lol.

Dont you run at bandimere chris? lol

My auto 96 gt full NPI ran 14.5 with just 3.73s gears.

pi intake , o/r h, and tune took me to 14.0-14.1.

just FYI, a NPI headed car with PI intake and PI cams is probably only 10 hp or so shy of a PI engine. The heads really arent a big restriction NA.

There are many variables, how you can drive, weight of the car, weather, 60 foot, etc.

Do you have a tune?

You should definitely get this car tuned once you do the cams and intake.

But by the way you worded it sounds like this will be your first time out?

...if thats the case, dont expect great times. lol

An amazing driver in your car could probably get close to 12s,...but average, mid to high 13s I would say and thats if you can launch the thing and do everything right.

If its your first time out dont be surprised if your stuck in the 14s.

yes this will be my first time out. how should i launch it? with 5 spd and 255/60/15 MT ET streets. Burnout? no burnout? what rpm?

short burn out.... just enough to warm the tires and clean them.

if you do long, smoke filled, burnouts the natural oils int he rubber get pulled out and burned off. this causes the rubber to become dry and brittle, reducing performance.

just clean them. start at a low RPM for your first run 3000RPMs or so, and see how things go. adjust tire pressure, RPMs, and your style as you go.

Do the burnout in second till you see a bit of smoke coming off I don't ease out of it to much I stay in it a bit as I pull away to clean the tires of moisture. I launch at like 4800 on radials or bias

sadly i do. lol.

golly you ran 14.1 with a PI intake, exhaust, and tune... hm.... .. lol.

What DA did you run at? Fast track or slow one?

I can tell you, if you come down to Rockingham where I race at, with a decent DA, and only run a 14.1 with a full PI swap 5-speed car......then you either have a mechanical problem with the car (i.e. not making power), or you can't drive. No offense.

I ran 14.0 @ 100 with PI cams, PI intake, offroad midpipe, catback, and SCT programmer. Stock converter, stock gears, full weight. I personally know guys with 99-04 guys with a CAI, offroad midpipe, programmer, and gears running low-mid 13s on street tires.

you left out the more important facts of that car...

" Stock converter, stock gears, full weight"

I had 3.08s in my auto...with 4.10 gears and a converter that same car would probably run low 13s.

Under optimal conditions a bolt on, Pi swapped, 5 speed with a great driver could probably run high 12s at sea level. The norm seems to be mid 13s.

As ive said already, it doesnt really matter cause with a manual car it all comes down to the driver.

I dont even know why these threads exist...its like trying to understand women.

Go run the car and report back. lol
