why mustang? i was a chevy guy untill i was about 23, when they announced that the F-body was dieing it was like a stab in the chest. I know Ford will not kill the mustang unless sales are near zero. About that time I found a Black 98 GT. that motivated me to love mustangs.

What goals and why? I love an underdog. my stock 98 went 14.55@95mph, and my cousin had a 70 olds 442 that walked me hard my first time at the track, it's best time is 13.19. I saved, traded, wrenched and researched to get that non-pi car to 13.36@101. I can't do that again, i wanted to go 12's on stock heads N/A, never happend and i don't have the patience to do it again, i promised myself i would get something already quick, eyeing 03-04 cobra's, but that is wine taste on a beer budget. Found my current ride, even though i broke it just a couple weeks after buying it i'm in love again. My goal is 11.7's in average air, why? it should be about 11.5 in good air and I don't want to have to put a cage in it to play at the track.

Why SN95? no, more specifically, it has to be a 98. because my first mustang was one, i've owned 2 1999 gt's and it was never the same, they always felt different. my 13 year old 147k mile "NEW" car fits like a glove, a glove that lays down about 300 to the ground :D

i think for me it is the car i saw when i was in junior high and high school that just made me stop and say damn i want one of those. the stance, the exhaust note, and everything that makes it american. sure i could probably find a faster car but this one has that all american wow factor. everyone i have met that has a mustang will stop and tell ya whats been done to it and the story of how they came to get it. i am a ford fan through and through. i wanted a mustang but couldnt get one in high school and then i left for the army a few days after graduation. oh and i got married right before graduation too. deployed to iraq right after i got to my unit and then came the kids.......to make a long story short my kids are now 7 and 4. i picked up the dream a few weeks ago and took both kids for a ride in it and they were arguing who would get to drive it first. my oldest (daughter) saying "daddy i want a car exactly like this, but pink". when we got done with that ride i had the same giddy grin on my face as they did. my boy comes out to the garage to help daddy with working on the car. brings his little plastic toolbox out and everything. sorry a little long winded.

I love improving things, no matter what they are. That's why I got a Mustang, because they need help.

My local SN95 community is quite sparse. By far the majority of 94-98s I see are V6s/junk, although there are a handful of garage queens. Sooo many 03-04 Cobras here, so they aren't even special to me anymore. Same with S197s. I've developed an irrevocable attachment to 2Vs so I take it as a challenge to see how many people I can surprise with it.

How about this one: If you could do it all over again, knowing everything you know now, what (if anything) would you change?

What my motivation is to just have a nice running Cobra that runs 11's NA. Ran into a few bumps as far as getting it back on the road last year but 2012 should bring in some nice track times and then I'll work on some magazine submissions. Beyond that Ive just always been into stangs and modding them.

I need to find my motivation to finish my car, it's so close to being finished mechanically but I just don't have that same interest I used to. The other trucks take most of my time and I have more fun playing in the dirt/sand than playing with the mustang. I also say "you only live once" but that's what got me involved with the trucks in the first place. Hopefully I can have both projects finished by the time my kid is born.

My motivation for my cobra was a Trifecta:
1) Sometime to drive to car shows/cruises
2) Something to race at the track from time to time
3) 600+ daily driver

It took me many years to reach that goal, but I am finally there.

I would have to say my motivation is to have the most badass grabber blue new edge ever built. Now only 2 things to do. Make mine badass (in the process of 3.8 to 5.0 stroker swap) then paint it grabber blue haha. I also agree 100% with geeteestang.
