I'm installing the battery in the truck and I can't figure out where to run the positive battery cable through the fire wall. Is a good place underneath the HVAC unit drain, or maybe where the wire harness comes through the inner fender? I just don't wanna run into a problem when I install the engine

I ran mine along the subframe and went through the floor in the trunk.
firewall, you can poke through by the fuse box or by the steering boot.
or drill a hole and get a grommet to fit.

The grommet that the rest of the wires runs through on the drivers side upper firewall is HUGE and has plenty of room to poke a hole through and stick yer wire in it.

Don't I wanna run the power wire straight to the starter? Idk if my wire is long enough to run to the drivers side and the back the to the passenger side

Does that help?

Pretty sure you can go to the starter or to the fuse box under the hood with no problems, not sure where you heard pass side though?

Well the battery will be on the passenger side, so I thought there might a easy spot to run it on the passenger side.

oh I see what you mean now about pass side. I know there is NO way to run a power wire through the firewall on the passenger side with out drilling a hole because I did it.

Run it through the trunk under the car along inside edge of Passenger frame rail. No need to be in the bay with it.

Try to find some other wiring that is going along the same route and wire-tie it to them or other holes you can find.

Theres a grommet on the passenger side that leads straight into the inside of the subframe. Run through the subframe, then out of it, down the side of the car, and connect to the starter.

Crappy pics but you get the idea. Grommet is where the red wire goes in

It is a great option if you can get under the car. Otherwise it is not a problem to go through the firewall and then the passenger compartment.

in the fender....

entered under the dead-pedal, ran through the OEM wiring path by the drivers side seat (the battery cable is the very bottom cable. Kind of hard to see as all my sound system stuff is covering up up. lol.)

drilled through the rear-seat support to enter the pocket under the seat...
went up through the fender (drivers side.)
went through the holes in the trunk to transfer to the drivers side...

and done :)

(please note: not an NHRA legal set-up. no kill-switch is located on the rear of the car.)

I like the idea of having the cable in the car, I just don't know if my cable will be long enough

I think most are made to go through it. You can always measure it off with some string to find out prior to running it. If it isn't long enough just get a wire stretcher and you should be fine.

the only idea i have to save wire length is to either cut across earlier (under the dash, where room is tight) or under the rear seat (lots of space in there, may make for a more "direct" route to the passenger side battery)
