Like said, hold off for the Trickflows. Looks like they are building us a good head.

As for Patriot, their product are great. Yes they had problems with the 4.6 heads when it came out, but they fixed the problem within 5 month and made right with the people that had the smokey heads. Oh and this was 5+ years ago... 90% of the interweb bashers as never had or known somebody that has used Patriot parts.

Anyway I have seen their products first hand and I would use them with no hesitation. And this is not meant to piss anyone off or point at one person, I see this on all the forums and just felt like throwing my opinion out there...lol
Its just a rumor that has grown into a giant over the years. But being in the parts business also I bet this is why their parts are cheaper for us 4.6 ppl because for the LS ppl they are about the same as everybody else.

Patriot Stage 3's need a .020 overbore for valve clearance. I have a brand new in the box set of stage 2's with a head change kit FS in that section for $1450.

I heard all the negatives about Patriot heads but I couldn't turn down the price. When I got my heads, I took them to my Machine shop and had them tested. Everything looked great and even the MS said they've really stepped up their heads in the last couple years. Which is probably why their prices have gone up.

Absolutely, i don't fault you. I live by the Reagan moto "Trust but Verify". I trusted their price but I verified it's quality. :0)

Lets take a step out of the box and think of all that could of caused that. Hmm
1. Timing off
2. Cam plates not torqued correctly
3. Cam not lubed correctly at install
4. Over-rev during break in
5. Just blame the heads, its easier
I bet 75% of my warranty returns at work are from DIYers screwing them up during install.

I have to agree, alot of the issues i seen early on were people installing the heads with a set of cams and not degreeing them in causing PTV. They did have issues with QC for a bit but lots of the problems were poor installation that they still stood behind and sent out new heads etc.
