Ok guys well it's not looking like i am going to sell my wheels anytime soon. So i have been pondering always if it would look good to widen the 99/01 Polished Cobra's i have. Or be really different and widen some Tri-Bars. As you can tell by my car im not one to be like the standard mustang. I seem to do things differently. So which ones. I Think having them widened to a 9.5" would be just fine to run. Think a 285/40 matched with my 255/45 front should be a nice match. So let me know what you think.

Iunno, maybe I'm weird but I dont tribars look funky. Be a good sleeper with some Tribars but I'd widen the other wheels.

i wish i still had mine off the opal.

it would be nice to have a 315 on a tribar. although either set would look nice.

I wouldn't widen either, it's ridiculously expensive and imo it's just not worth it.

I am asking for Preference not about Price. I would have made the thread and asked about price if i was worried about it. I am about being different not like everyone else with there cobra's or saleen's. Why do you think i put a S351 wing on my car and 01 Polished cobra's to begin with. It was to be different.

I think the max i would want to push on a 9.5" rim would be 285.

I don't consider putting a wheel on your car that came stock on a lot of mustangs from the factory as being different but okay. If i had to pick between those two wheels i'd have to say widen 03 GT premium wheels. You don't need to widen factory wheels to be different, there are a lot of wheels available for these cars.

well honestly, i think a tri bar is different even if it is only 17x8. it's just something you wouldn't expect..

I think both would look good....I have polished 99-01's on mine and think they would look really good widened. But so would the Tri-bars.

Taking a wheel that you never see widened with a huge tire isn't different to you.
Arent the cobra rims availible in offset widths already? Why is a S351 wing considered to be sooo much different? On the other hand, ive never seen tribars in larger than stock widths so i guess out of the options tri-bars would get my vote. But, unless your going with a 10+ width I really dont see them standing out enough to make someone realize the difference. Going against the grain with non oem/mustang rims would be more "different" than a widened stock rim to me.

The 99/01 Cobra came in a Silver version and a Polished version. It was only available in a 17x8. In 2003 they offered a "premium Package" that got the 99/01 Cobra Polished wheels. Just it came with a running pony center cap instead of the SVT center cap in 99/01.

The reason i say different is you hardly see any mustangs at least 94-98 with Polished Cobra's like mine. You will also not see hardly any with a @351 spoiler at least i haven't and i looked around for a while before i purchased mine.

If i were to widen the Tri-Bars i would go 10 or possibly a 10.5 so i can get a 315 on there.

Only if you paint the tri-bars the color scheme of the 93R wheels.

The Black Spokes with the Chrome Caps. Hmm that would be different. Very Different infact.

Something I could never figure out was, did they only offer those wheels in the satin silver color in 99, and only the polished ones in 01? I've never seen a STOCK photo (for clarification: photo taken for manufacturer advertising purposes), of a 99 with polished wheels, or an 01 with silver wheels.
