i think what happens is, when it goes to the impound lot they take it from there or something.
all i know is that they have the power and can do it if they please... which sucks..

I know impound lots you can get your car out of but it's very expensive to store(like $200 or more a day) and that after a while if the bill becomes so large that you can't pay it, or after a set period of time the impound lot eventually gets your title instead of a paymentmy96gtstang said:

i am undecided about that.
we have Z28s and chargers around here for police, and it partially makes sense to make
more powerful police cars to keep up with faster production cars, but at the same time,
the longer you chase someone, the more dangerous it gets. thats why many cities (including
mine) outlaw police chases going more than 80mph. So on one hand, more power on the street,
but on the other, more of an excuse to take the chase further (trying to race a "cop" car cobra...
etc...)

i cant watch the damn video! What the hell, i click the link, it asks me like 10 times if i'm sure i want to view the unsecure material, i say yes, but the video just loads and loads! WTF?! I can watch any other video on the site :dunno:

what they do is they pull you over and impound your car, now if you have to go to court for your ticket then the car has to be left in impound as it is evidence in the case. now they can just keep pushing the court case back and postponing this and that, until maybe 6 months later when you have the court hearing. after the court hearing is over you can go get your car back but at $100 a day at an impound lot that is $18,000 and sometimes even more if it takes longer. In these cases the owners usually just end up giving the impound lot their title for the car or just don't pay it until the lot get a judge to get their fees from you.
So in all reality, the cops can't TAKE your vehicle from you, they can just hold it, charge you while they are holding it and make you pay ridiculous amounts of money to get it back.
