351 swap headers...are they really needed, i am wanting to go to longtubes with my 351 swap, i was told that i cant use the regular 5.0 longtubes cause the 351 is a little higher and the headers wont go down as far, so i was wondering if i could use regular longtubes for a 5.0 on the 351 if i put in drop mounts, oh and i want to use fox headers so that egr bung isnt there, if i cant then i will just buy the hooker 95 cobra r shorties that summit sells, thanks

the reason why i was wondering if i could use fox 5.0 headers with a 351 with drop mounts is because im not going to spend $350+ for a set of headers, summit brand fox longtubes are $99; there good headers and theyre cheap, if it comes down to that i cant use regular fox longtubes at all then i will get the hooker cobra r shorties for $250, ive been keeping a look out on ebay for a used set of swap headers for the past couple weeks but havent seen any yet, if theyre not used off ebay i have to buy them at summit cause i have over a $100 in summit bucks
I'm pretty sure fox 351w headers will not work in a sn95. I think there is some interference with the steering shaft. I'm not 100% sure though. I read somewhere the difference between the two is that sn95 headers have a primary going around the steering shaft.
Im talking about fox 351w headers. I really dont think the 302 headers will work because of the higher deck height. Other than that, Im not sure. I havent heard of anyone using the drop mounts to compensate for the deck height. Sorry I couldnt help more
