Hey All, just thought I'd post up pics of my project.

Bought v6 coupe for my daughter, for about $400. Replaced battery, starter and ignition switch. Got it running. Changed oil and it spun an bearing. Fixed door and fender and bumper. Drove to house and here it sits.
I did rebuild v6 myself, and did the windstar intake and drove it for awhile. Blah, blah, blah.....

I rebuilt 302 shortblock from 1999 explorer. E7 heads. Explorer cam. Explorer intake..... You get the idea. My recent purchase was t5 out of 1997 mustang v6 for $50. The flywheel is 11" 164 tooth from O'riellys for about $60, I told them it was for a 1989 ford truck.

Manual computer came in today. updates to come. enjoy,

Have you started the swap yet? What are you doing for electronics? What about drivetrain?

The thing I can ad is dump the Exploder cam, go with a stock HO or something aftermarket. It will have no pull in higher RPM, but may be good for light towing. :)

I'm back. Haven't had a chance to work on car because of the hurricane. I have some pics of some progress. I had to replace radiator core support. Removing spot welds was something serious.

Picture is the 89 truck pressure plate and the 3.8 mustang pressure plate. 3.8 is yellow. The clutch kit cost $85.00 at O'riellys. I have to get you guys the part number. The pilot bearing fits nicely to the 3.8 mustang input shaft.

Marshall, Texas. I still need 8.8 rear end and H-pipe. I would like to have saleen wing. I plan on installing T4M0 computer and transmission today or tomorrow morning. My daughter is leaving for the Navy tomorrow. I might just put things on hold til Tuesday. The only problem I see with this install is the size of bolts for pressure plate. They look to be 5/16 x 3/4" but I might try 5/16 x 1". I'll be updating soon.

Which Saleen wing? S281 or S351? Not sure about the bolts, I'll check into that. The h-pipe is easy, do you want cats or no cats? As for an 8.8, you should check the Houston-area Craigslist. Always a TON of Muatang parts for sale there.

I was looking at S281 wing and h-pipe without cats. I might go to u-pull-it for 8.8

My daughter thanks you. We're throwing a little going away party tomorrow. Any way back to progress.

I bought 5/16 bolts and they didn't fit. I went to Orielly's and found these. They are for chevy flexplate??? But they worked.

This is where I stopped today, getting kind of dark and the mosquito's around here are the worst. But I did run into problem. The pivot pin need to be moved in to clear the pressure plate. Maybe a 1/4".

The starter will not need any adjustment at all. I checked clearance. I used a 3.8 automatic block plate, if anyone was wondering.

I'm doing this swap simply because there is so much mis-information out on other forums. Some say it can be done, others say it can't. You don't have to buy those expensive flywheels, there are other alternatives. I'm thrifty "cheap" :D. Hope to finish tomorrow.

awsome build man. their is absolutly nothing wrong with being "thrifty" hell i look up part numbers/ manufacters and buy everything on ebay now adays lol. also look up bearings part numbers and get them direct from manufacters.

anyway again this is awsome i wondered if that was possible myself. and thank your daughter for her service keep up the good work
