Kind of late to the game for this response, but I have Cobra 1.7's on my old engine under the stock valve covers. I just had to remove the baffle under the oil fill tube. I'm ready to see that KB on!

Did some more tear down today.
Drained the coolant, removed the old stock rad, removed the air conditioning compressor, removed the power steering pump, began de-burring and removing casting marks from the belt tensioner and alternator bracket to prepare them for powder coating.
Waiting for my camshaft to arrive, some parts to come back from being sandblasted and then eat these brackets off to be powder coated and we are off to the races.

Got the lower intake glass beaded. Had an old set of 19lb injectors that were used to plug the holes
