351 needs a cobra 6 spd

so i want the 6spd in my 95 GT with a 351 project i have going, is there anyway to get these trannys for under 2400 bucks? cause my bank account, (not to mention my significant other) is anywhere near allowing that. thanks for the help.

or possibly tell me what would handle the 351 toque other than the 6 spd, im not possitive on this, but ive been told repeatedly that the T5 wont handle the abuse

You don't need a 6 speed for that. 351s aren't exactly monster motors unless it's a decent build-up. I have a Tremec 3550 behind my 422. It held 615 ft. lbs. on spray - but I wasn't launching it on slicks obviously.

I would say a Tremec TKO600 would be more than adequate for most 351s.

yeah i didnt mean to make it sound as if they were some end all be all badass motor, but yeah right n man thanks for the imput, thats gonna save us some cash.
