It's a great kit I'd run the stage 2 cam with it tho.

Don't believe the numbers they post with those kits. Your only going to see at most 330rwhp out of a h/c/i swap. A lot of the times you can get more out of it if you piece your own kit together.

That's rated at the flywheel, with a good tune most see about 300 at the wheels. I have the track heat setup on mine running the stage 1 cam and a Procharger. Barely working out the kinks, startup should hopefully happen this Friday. You might be able to squeeze out a bit more hp out of a different setup but it might be hit or miss. The reason I went with the TFS kit was that it takes the guesswork out of the equation, which helps a lot if you're not an expert.

I'd take that money and buy a supercharger kit instead. You'll get more horsepower and drivability than the heads/cam/intake, plus it's MUCH easier to install.

I have the trick flow top end kit on the 306 in my '89 notch.

If I were to do it all over again... No joke, I would have saved up the money, bought a b&g turbo kit and slapped it on my stock motor. It would have been done a long time ago, still driving the car and building a bigger better motor on a stand in the garage. A vortech kit would be even cheaper and a easier install.

P.S. Not to thread jack but, Paul- Is that thing running yet? lol

It's not running yet. The sound deadening project is ridiculously long. All the Damplifier is in it. Now I'm working on the Luxury Liner Pro.

I'm retarded for doing this much work.

I know this is kind of a retarded question to ask.. but what kind of MPG can you expect out of a SC vs mild H/C/I such as the track heat setup? I'd like to get some more power out of this pig of a car, but I still want to be able to drive it everyday, and on long trips a lot.

I have a 95 GT and have recently installed a DSS 331 Stroker with a TFS Track Heat Top End Kit with a Stage 2 cam. It made 354.5rwhp and 370ftlbs on the dyno. I can't tell you what MPG i am getting with it I have not drove it that much yet.

With a TFS top end kit on a 9:1 CR 306, and electric water pump and fan, I'm predicting 271 rwhp through a Tremec 3550. Some day when it's running and I get it dyno'd we'll find out if I'm right.

I doubt very much it will be that much, but I'm also one hell of a glass-half-empty kind of guy when it comes to cars.

150k miles doesn't mean the motor is shot. Do a simple compression test - if the cylinders are all withing about 15 psi of eachother, call it good and put a blower on it.

As for what you could do - select a supercharger that you like, buy a new 255 lph fuel pump and perhaps an inline pump, some 42lb injectors, a Lightning MAF, and an Anderson Power Pipe and you're golden. Then get a tune. The motor itself doesn't need any mods. This is a tried-and-true combination that's been going for a couple of decades.

People love to over-complicate crap.
