94 Mustang Build Thread

Well, i figured I'd start a build thread since I have a lot of plans for my car in the near future. This week the Trick Flow Track Heat heads will be put on, and a lot of cleaning of engine parts and engine bay will be done. My rebuilt tranny will also be going in this week.

This motor is a 308, and my dad and I just rebuilt it about 3500 miles ago. It has cast internals, F303, .060 cast pistons, and GT40 intakes.

More pics to come tomorrow

Sounds like a good plan to me, and a nice start. The Block looks good.

Re: 94 GT build thread

worked late tonight, heres what i got done

Ceramic painted BBK shortys

I painted the powersteering and alternator brackets with a hammered finish medium grey. they look powdercoated. I wanted to do something different, and I hate the way most painted aluminum looks, so I went this way. I'm very happy with it. Also bolted back on my MSD coil and smog delete.

Heres my fully port matched GT40 lower w/ BBK AFPR.

With 1" spacer

I'm going to be watching the Super Bowl tomorrow, so i'm not sure how much i'll get done.

Today I tore into the heads. I took out the valves and spings, wire brushed all of the valves, cleaned all of the springs, ports, and water passages.

Re: 94 GT build thread

right now i have an old pair of polished ford motorsport valve covers. i'm going to just polish them up really nice with a fine grit paper and a buffer. when i have the money later on i can just pull off the upper intake and put on some ford racing ones.

Re: 94 GT build thread

i could have probably had it back in the car and running today, but my tranny wont be done until tomorrow, and i had to order slightly longer pushrods. The Crane rods that i has are 6.5, and i just ordered some Trick Flow chromoly 6.75's to make the rockers line up perfectly. Those will be here by friday, i payed $13 for shipping for just the pushrods and a magnetic oil pan drain plug.

Re: 94 GT build thread

i'm going to pick up the tranny today after school. hopefully i'll have time to finish cleaning the engine bay and get the motor set in place, pressure plate, flywheel, bellhousing, and maybe even the tranny and driveshaft installed. i have a busy night after school ahead of me!

Well my tranny is still not ready. he told my friday afternoon for sure. he's only charging me $100 plus a puked world class (i mean totally puked). So instead of installing the tranny i polished my pulleys, valve covers and some intake plugs, cleaned fuel lines, rails, injectors, some more of the engine compartment and some other little stuff.

i hope my pushrods and intake TB spacer show up tomorrow!

Im so jealous. I wish I could yank my engine and hide the wires and clean up the bay and paint everything all nice. Apartments suck, no garage and no place for tools. My HCI and 2 sets of gears and TB and old headlights are all in my tiny ass room lol.

Cant wait to see it all finished up.

Re: 94 GT build thread

when i had my apt i had a garage. it was supposed to be an extra $50 a month, but i talked them down to $30. So my roomate got one also. well, everymonth when we went to pay rent they never mentioned the garages. we never paid a cent for them! 2 garages for free!

i wish i had the time to tuck all of the wires and weld up the holes and what not, but i want the car back on the road ASAP!

when summer rolls around i i repaint the car, i may pull the motor back out and do a wire tuck. theres just soooo much to take out of the engine bay
