My 95 GT is having an issue.

It used to have problems starting every once and a while. It would turn over and it sounded like the fuel pump was kicking in before completely turning the key. But it wouldn't start. This seemed to only happen after the engine was warm. Cold starts always seemed to work. I would wait for about an hour and then it would start.

Just recently I was driving down the road and the engine died. This is the first time it happened to me. A friend of mine borrowed my car and said it happened to him once on the highway. He was able to starting it again right away though.

I tried reading the codes from the check engine light. I first did it cold and then warmed the engine and tried again. Here are the results:

Cold:
116
116
112
111

Warm:
111
111
1
111
111

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can try? I'm assuming the results of the cold test can be ignore as the engine was cold? The warm test is all pass codes?

Mine does the same thing, haven't quite figured it out yet. Only it doesnt take an hour to start, about 5 minutes. It sometimes sounds like its backfiring out of the cai though? Dunno what that is

111 - System Pass
112 - ACT Sensor Circuit Below Minimum Voltage of 0.2 volts (O), ACT circuit has intermittently failed below minimum 0.2 volts (M)

116 - ECT out of self test range 0.3 to 3.7 volts

The Air Charge Temperature (ACT) sensor could be bad... it helps calculate air/fuel ratios and timing based on certain temperatures... replace it

The ECT is Engine Coolant Temp sensor... I don't think that would cause any issues...

has the dizzy been replaced yet? Most likely that is both or your problems.
The PIP inside the dizzy is going out and not picking up the pulses to fire the ignition correctly.
It starts out as an intermitant problem and gradually gets worse.
A remaned dizzy is about $120 with a warranty, and the replacement pip is about $20 but you have to disassemble the dizzy.
If the dizzy isn't working your fuel pump won't work either.

Well mine did it again this morning. Colder morning (45 degrees?) Went to start it and it'd crank but not fire. Tried cranking it 3 or 4 times before i said fuck it and took the buick. My dad tried driving it later and said he had to crank it about 3 time, pumped the gas twice. It started stalled, then started right back up. Hesitated when he went to leave, made it about 5 blocks then it stalled again. He said it hesitated until it warmed up. Still sound like a problem with the dizzy?

could still be the dizzy. or maybe fuel pump/filter too. more testing is required
