New to site, Hello all!!!

My 95 GT convertible will sometime start and sometimes will not start. No real pattern as to hot or cold. Fuel pump runs when ignition is switched on and pressure builds quickly to 35psi then the pump shuts off. The engine cranks over fine and I have spark. Whenever the engine will not start, I can pull the intake hose off at the throttle body and squirt some gas into the intake, replace the hose, and the car will start and run just fine but when I turn it off, it is a gamble as to whether or not it will restart. It might or it might not. I have replaced the TPS, and the relay module and have replaced the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. Again, if it starts, it runs fine even if I have to squirt gas into the intake. What could be my problem?

When was the last time the fuel filter was replaced?I think you need 45psi fuel pressure with the vacuum hose off of the pressure regulator. Should be a little higher with the hose on.When you shut the car off, how fast does the f/p drop? BTW, welcome to the site

Interesting on the pressure at 45 psi. I read where 35 to 40 psi at start is recommended so I figured that I was at the minimum and it should start. I'll check against my wife's Explorer to see what the starting pressure is on it.

Interesting on 45psi. I've only ever seen 35psi on this car but I will check the starting pressure on my wife's Explorer. The filter was replaced a couple of months ago when I did all the other tune up items in the hopes of addressing this situation, no change.

pull the harness off the coolant temp sensor that goes to the eec (not the gauge). colder ambient temp needs a larger initial injector pulse to start. if the coolant temp sensor is not reading correctly that might not be happening. by pulling the harness off the sensor the eec thinks it is below 0 and will give it a lot of fuel. if that starts you know you have a bad sensor
