Ive purchased a wheel set up and spring set up (h&r supersports) cc plates, ball joints, bump steer kit..now im just a few steps away. Im stuck on a shock and strut decision im going the tokico hp route for now i think, but.. i cant decide if i should go with the 5.0 shocks n struts or the 96 gt shocks n struts, ive heard that the 5.0 shocks are shorter. meaning not so compressed on a lowered car meaning better i guess.. but will the bolt right up? are there any other extra parts that im gonna need to make them fit? its all became a headache haha, but i know itll be worth it at the end. any information on this would be great. :drunken_smilie:

Just go woth what is made for your car.

Get some Bilstein HD Struts and shocks, or get some Illumina's.

You can do fox shocks if you want. I've ran the car as low as your Super Sports on coil overs for a while, and I've never had a problem with rough ride or bottoming out. I'm using Koni Single Adjustable struts for 94-04.

Rear shocks are same length on both SN95 and Foxbody.

I had Illumina's on my 85 MR2. HOLY COW i loved those things. You talk about a good shock. That thing would handle like it was on rails. I guess it helped also that it was light but nonetheless it was amazing.

quadshocks are useless. I bought my 95 with Eibach pro-kit and tokico shocks/struts without quadshocks and never had any problems
with wheel hop, handling, etc... just ditch them while you're in there

I am getting ready to do my first round of suspension mods. A very reputable local shop recommended that I stick with stock height shocks on my sn.

Tokico blues will work, all of them will work just fine. It just all depends on how much you want to spend. Just get a shock that is made for the SN year you have.

Fox Struts and shocks bolt up exactly the same as sn95. The Struts are just 1" shorter. They are less likely to bottom out .

so which is shorter and how does it make it less likely to bottom out? will a shorter strut up front lower the front any over the stock struts?

The fox setup is shorter. However it doesn't lower your car anymore springs will lower your car.
