Cut out a splitter last night. Not set on it yet. You guys think its to big? To much?

Plans are to get it all situated, cover in fiberglass, and paint it the same color as the wheels. Figure out a cheap solution for the adjusting rods. The rods really dont need to be adjustable, but need to look decent. Blend the front cover and splitter together using a strip of somesort of material. Maybe ABS?

Under heavy criticism, I have decided the engine need to go in!

Still lots of work to be done. I sat the intake on for looks. It alone needs a little elbow grease, but all in all im moving forward. Got loads of work ahead!

I forgot to add.

I removed the a/c unit and eventually the rest of the system will go. Who needs cold air?

Now with out an a/c pulley in its place I was able to search the parts filled shelves at autozone for a 6rib idler pulley. The smooth idler pulley directly above the tentioner is a simple guide pulley that keeps the belt from slapping around. I swapped it for a $15 ribbed pulley and was able to reroute the belt around this new idler while still keeping the tentioner functionable. Doing so has reduced the belt length to an inch measure of around 78" - 79".

That intake looks great on there. I can't wait for you to get it on the road.

FORD Racing performance parts shorties...lol

Really not much of an improvement. They did uncork some when I swapped them in the first time

Your splitter looks about what i am. Be sure to have 4 supports on the outside because it might sag. Ive seen some pretty weird support rods. But if you want something cheap, ebay is your friend.

Ill check ebay out! Ive seen the cable type. Not sure if ill save movey building them since I dont have the tools. Im thinking Ace hardware provides the tools....ill check it out.

It does resemble your splitter! You did a good job on it! Im modeling after you...lol. I made my splitter pretty big. Ive got it to were the rear portion slips over the front lip of the Kmember, in between the steering rack bolts. I like how you used the multi holed angled steel arector set stuff for bracing. Cheap and easily available. Ill grab a few lengths.

Wrenched away the day and made great progress. The tranny, driveshaft, and starter ready to roll. Sanded down some ugly welds on the intake. Reattaching and installing the tail lights......boy, that tranny is a tough one installing from the floor.

Spent the day working the exhaust in. I say work, cause it not a typical 4.6l exhaust which is easier. The added width of the 5.4l make the Hpipe wider and much goofier. Also got the tranny fluid up, shifter bolted in and interior trim set in place. Extending the 02 wires before installing them. Again, the 5.4l added size has made connection locations shorter. The sensor wires were being stretched to connect.

Sounds good, im in no rush.

If you need some fiberglass for the splitter, let me know, we could work out a deal as ive got glass in weights from 3/4oz per yars to 26oz per yard. Roughly 2-300 sq. yards

Now see....you changed the game!

I like the way you think!

Ill need a bit of schooling when it comes to glassing. Ive had my share with car audio and get the basics working it, but never knew how to calculate materials for given space. Watching your thread has been nurishing as well. Should improve my success towards a good finish...thank you for that by the way.

Ill snap some close pics of the a/c lines....see if its what you want.

Loving this project, great work. For me personally I think the all bronze/copper color on the wheels is a bit too much but that's my .02 I do however think the copper/bronze color lip with flat black inside looks awesome!

I agree with the color scheme! Put your .02 in,...I enjoy it. Working these wheels was a bit much with the powder coated texture. Masking off was tough. The wheels are cheap and I didnt want blacked out look. I wanted to try the bronze rim with blacked out centers, but it just didnt pan out that way. Now....if I could fit the bill with the rims in that pick...id be set!
