Started working in the garage today. Forgot to take pictures whenever I began but here are a few snaps.

Got it all broken down for the most part.

Here is a few preliminary findings. Took a break for dinner but will be removing the pistons and crank shortly

Alright I am calling it a night from the garage. I have to say I have a new favorite tool tho. I bought a 3/8 electric ratchet today. Milwaukee brand....really cut down alot of wrenching time.

Block.jpg

I for the love of god could not get the last bolt off holding the oil filter housing off. It will not accept any tool I own. However, the block is bare otherwise.

Table.jpg

Now for the Initial Damage Report.

3 Bent Connecting Rods
1 Broken Connecting Rod
4 What appear to be straight but we will call them bent also Connecting Rods.
2 Damaged Pistons on the Rod side
No visible damage atm to the cylinder walls

Dropping the Block,Crank and Heads off to the Machine Shop first thing in the morning.

Looks like your uni-body is in great shape, theres nothing like having it rust free. We've both been blessed in that specific area. Since I purchased my mother's '99 Taurus last year, I now have a vehicle that I'm able to go anywhere at anytime. The weather dictated when and where I could drive with the stang. Rain and salt are our worst enemy's with these type cars. Glad to see that you're making process with your car, and I can't believe those  connecting rods. Those are crazy looking! Forgive me if you've said it already, but you may want to look into the coyote connecting rods. Almost $300 shipped, and normally you can't purchase rods that are cheap, strong, and light all at the same time. If you're interested in them I will tell you where I purchased the them at.

I have several vehicles to drive around for bad weather. My 2011 Fusion has some of the worst rust on rockers I have ever seen in a short amount of time.

I have heard the Boss rods several times from people. MMR has a set of Forged I-Beams for $379.99 I was looking into.

I’ve heard of people having great success with them but I was sure they’d handle the proposed 20 psi I was going to throw at them. Then I got a deal on my Coyote and it pushed me over the edge.

It’s not strong enough to break anything loose that is torqued. But I used it to run things out after I broke them loose to speed everything up. It’s perfect IMO tho bc it never tried to rip out of my hand or break any knuckles. Best investment tool I’ve purchased in a long time.

Is it the regular one, or the FUEL series?

Just the Regular one. It was $119 for the tool and about the same for the battery and charger. In all about $250 after taxes but definitely worth the money in my opinion. I’ve had three shoulder surgeries so it saves some additional movements and allowed me to keep wrenching longer.

I've been eyeballing that Milwaukee ratchet for a while now. I'm going to have to just get one. I have an impact (cordless) and i don't know how i lived without that for so long.

good pics, easy to see what you're doing. good luck with the project!

Those rods look good to me... jk
That sucks man if you run into any issues post away. I've been countless 4vs over the years.

Regarding the t45 or t56. I went built t45 route with the 26 spline. Cant say enough good things about this transmission and its under a lot of stress from the forged engine and turbo.

I know the t45source got bought out but you may still be able to get some of the billet internals for the t45
