I bought my 97 six years ago and ended up with a Vortech and associated mods. I had planned on a n/a build and "C" head swap but that pushed to the wayside this past spring with a spun bearing. My former setup consisted of the stock 97 long block, V2SQ with Paxton intercooler & 3.33 pulley, Anderson powerpipe, #42 injectors, Walbro 255lph fuel pump,IMRC deletes and short runner intake done by na svt . It made 452rwhp and 374tq.

I was lucky and had a friend of my father contact me who had a 03 Aviator long block with 6-8 thousand miles on it which I picked up for $1500. Obviously the Vortech didn't go back on and my mods are down below in my sig.

It's nice to be rid of the s/c, intercooler piping and actually have some room to work again.

Ground clearance with the ARH headers and cats.

Looks sick. That manifold looks so different then the stock 96/98 manifold lol. Seems like it makes some good power. Where I live those LT's would be scraping the speed bumps on my street ouch.

The roads are absolute s*** around here and with Eibach lowering springs I haven't had an issue with anything scraping.

i like that aviator engine. very clean.

Thanks!

wooooooooo! nice!

nice setup! that torque curve is really nice, must pull at any RPM :)

Thanks Dalamar! It took a little getting used to making almost 125rwhp less but I am happy with the performance so far.

I am glad someone got inspiration from my misfortune:p Seriously though it isn't too bad of a swap. I have a total somewhere of what the extras cost me and part numbers. If you need any of it send me a PM.

Your FR500 intake...I WANT IT!!!

I actually picked up a majority of swap parts off of SVTp. COP conversion, 04 mach intake etc. I plan to go longtubes as well, but ARH are so damn expensive its hard to drop that coin.

That Market on SVTP is about the only good board left on the site. ARH's are pricey but the quality and fitment are excellent and I hemmed and hawed over putting that much money out initially but I am glad I did and I highly recommend them.

Do you have any videos of the car running? Essentially it'll sound alot like my car in terms of setup.

I saw your sig the other day and was planning on asking you to make a thread for the car! it looks great. the aviator is an iron 5.4 correct? the bay looks awesome with it in there.

^^^No, the aviator is pretty much the same thing as an auto 4.6 mach 1 engine; aluminum wap block, 03-04 style C heads, 6 bolt cast crank.

I do believe you've confused the navigator with the aviator. The navi has the 5.4 iron block

Very interesting build. I noted down everything on your sig already lol. I'm guessing your a big fan of NA? Maybe when my motor gets tired I'll search for an aviator or mach 1 motor :)

any plans of putting the blower on this new setup?

No s/c on this one. I would not put a s/c on another engine unless it was built for boost. It's too expensive cooking one not made for boost.

Oh well. I'm sure it sounds pretty good regardless.

I'll try to get a vid but the car is put away so it may take a few months.
