So I'm about to buy my cat back and I'm trying to decide between Magnapacks and Slp LM1s. I've already decided to run an o/r x most likely BBK. Is anyone running either of these setups?

Here's an update of all the parts I have picked up and will be installing in the coming weeks:

Magnapacks
BBK o/r H
BBK CAI
PI Intake and Cams
Tint 35/20
Eibach Sportlines
Tokico HPs Front/Rear
Whitefaces from LMR

I will update with pics of everything it all goes in!

Bad news, one of the timing chain tensioners has let go and the chain is now lose/hitting the valve cover. it sounds terrible. The good news is I already bought a timing kit, PI Intake/Cam swap parts, and I already had the Intake/Cams waiting for install. I plan on doing all the work myself in the next two weeks. Has this happened to anyone else recently??

that is very abnormal, especially for such a low mileage car. i tore down a 130k+ mile motor a few weeks ago, the chains, tensioners, and guides were perfect. same goes for a 85k mile motor i tore down a few months ago.

Re: 98 GT built not bought BIG UPDATE

Okay so since my car has been back on the road for spring I have done a lot of work to her. Here is what's gone in so far:

PI CAMS
PI INTAKE
New chain and chain tensioners
BBK o/r H
Magnapacks
Steeda Triax
Whitefaces
BBK CAI

The PI swap took me and two buddies about 15 hours to complete from initial teardown to assembly to final leak checks. The part that gave us the most trouble turned out to be getting the power steering pump out the way so the timing cover could be removed. The whole thing really went great, didn't even break any bolts. Everything went together perfect and I couldn't have done it without the write-ups that I found through this site.

The exhaust install also went pretty flawless except for one misplaced hangar from the factory, CJPony has since given me a credit, thank you. The dreaded manifold studs were somewhat hard to get to but once the ratchet was on them it was smooth sailing.

The whitefaces that were ordered from LMRS looked like they would be great but ended up having old glue on the backing which has led to some of my needles sticking. I still have to tear the cluster apart and fix it, hopefully the gauges aren't destroyed!

Anyway here are some pics/vids of the process and outcome.
