hey so my a/c finally went out the other day on my 98 gt. However i do not think it is the compressor ill describe what it is doing and maybe someone can help me lol. i guess ill call it the air temp switch the one in the middle on the dash but when it is turned to the cold side it gets harder and harder to turn till it gets straight up then it goes the rest of the way without any resistance and when putting it back to the hot side there is no reisitance the entire way however there is only resistance whan the a/c is on or it is on vent if the a/c is off there is no resistance when going to the cold side. I just finished pulling the whole thing out and there is nothing getting in the way of the switch or broken from the backside that i can tell. thanks if anyone can help

this knob is conected to a cable, check cable for binding. the cable conects right behind glove box. down box [push on sides and will release] and disconect cable from ac box move lever by hand and feel for resistance if no resistance repace cable. should be able to get at any salvage yard 94-04 fits no problem
