This is my friend's E36 1JZ. He's into drifting and already built a E30 convertible with a 4.0 V8.
The E36 started life as a 328i. First ideas to get a turbo or supercharger kit for the bmw-motor but thats was just too easy

Man you had me right up until I saw the Toyota motor going in. Then I threw up a little in my mouth. But I'm sure it was just me. I like E36's. Of course I dont like cross breeders of any kind when it comes to cars.

I'm sure thats a race car only so you might not care, but I tihnk it'd look SUHWEET if you could get that BMW engine cover and cut it up to mount on top of the 1JZ. Tie it all together, maybe even get a little emblem to attach to it that syas "Toyota Powered"

Thx guys! Yes its a racecar and he just wanted to do something you usually don't see here in Germany. He's big into BMWs - he's got a M5 dailydriver. Like said he already had an e30 with 4.0 v8 swap.
He was looking for a 2jz but can't find any so he went with a 1jz..
I know what you're saying with the toyota motor in the bmw.. I'm like 50/50 about this. But the motor once it runs smooth after adjustments and tune the coming weeks it'll be fun to race it and at the end all hard hard work worth it!
even some of these guys said to do the same thing with my mustang LOL

Ah well, people are going to do what they want anyways... Just look at all the LS1 mustangs running around. Besides it would be interesting to see a 2jz in a six cylinder mustang. Put a large aftermarket single turbo on it, and watch it FLY. You can brag about it... still being a 6 cylinder.
