Airbag went off on its own today!

Getting hit with an airbag is like being in a pillow fight with Mike Tyson.

I reached down and unplugged the module yesterday after the explosion. I will say that im almost positive my stereo wires didnt reach that far down. Im still not sure what caused it though, Ill be looking at it this weekend and Ill let u guys know if I find anything.

I always kind of thought maybe a clockspring but my cruise works fine.

isnt there a recall on sn95's for airbag delays? maybe its related some how. would be a dealer fix being a safty recall in all.

there may be a certin window that you get the work done in tho. My buddies 96 Gt intake cracked and the dealer said he missed the window for the recall.

wow that suck's! but I would say the problem started when you decided to ignore the ABS light being on! these warning light's dont go on for no reason and ignoring the problem will now end up costing you more!

I dont know whats going on. I go to jump it today and after I get it started and disconnect the cables the temp sending unit exploded. The gauge was jumping up and down and then it made a big pop and I look to see thats what happened. I have no stereo in and the wires are all taped hanging out of my dash. Also I had to pull the coil wire to kill the car afterward!!!!!!!

Does anyone have an evtm that can help. I had a couple of blown fuses (stereo and airbag monitor) ive looked at a bunch of harness and cant figure this out, Im afraid to even hook the battery up at this point.

I think so too, its dark here hope i can get this figured out tomorrow. I notice the fuse in the air bag monitor was too big and it says warning no substitutions on the diagram I found. I wonder if something got fried something. The fuse block looks fine.

florida 50 sells deletes for the passanger side aswell. I dont like the passanger side airbag, it seems more dangerous then the drivers side.

I retract my previous statement, you melted the hell out of that wiring and now this is the end result. Id put money on it that you need a bodyharness now

from what i understand safty recalls have no time window. if there is a problem that can cause death or injury and it is a true safty recall any dealer should fix it without charge. unless it has been addressed before. then they will charge you an arm and a leg.
