Something interesting...

I just pulled the trans yesterday and removed my aluminum shaft. Seems there is quite a bit of rubbing in the trans tunnel on the e-brake bracket. I'm removing mine to prevent further lathing. Not sure if I have something wrong with the driveline angles or if this is normal. I run MM solid engine mounts and a prothane trans mount. I'll get a couple pics today when I finish it up.

typically when the DS is rubbing on the e brake bracket it's due to worn rear control arm bushings.

^ upper or lower?

I run J&M lowers with poly, no signs of wear. Also a MM PHB. The uppers are very well worn stockers.

Where is the ebrake bracket? Can it be moved a little to provide more clearance? I have new lower arms but my uppers are stock.

My car started to rub on the e break bracket but only when I slammed it and had people riding with me.. Then it would rub if the car would bounce I guess you would say.. I just raised it a lil bit..

I have a broken one in my backyard. I use it to smash down the garbage in my garbage can when I'm cramming lots of tree branches and leaves and stuff in there. :)

My buddy Trent broke it. Tore one of the ears off. 725 rwhp turbo 331 with a stick shift, and an AEM-boost-controlled launch. It's the only one I've personally seen break so far. So unless you're making buckets of power, I wouldn't worry about it one bit.

Like others said I don't think you'll have a problem. I don't know how many different manufactures make them but obviously go with one made by a reputable company.

Iirc mine is a BMR piece. I like it much better then the universal. The universal fit under my fox but the sn has different floor contour and the BMR fit great. And there is great room for the wider shaft.

I have a lakewood safety loop and it's bolts rubbed on the driveshaft pretty bad when I took sharp turns, so I had to remove the bolts that hold the driveshaft in place and weld it instead of using the bolts. I didn't install the driveshaft loop personally, so it may have been installed incorrectly. Just watch for rubbing after you install, you should be fine, easy fix regardless.
