First I have a 95 GT with a new 5.8 built top end and the PMS with tune from Anderson. Today was the first start for the engine. She started right up with out a problem, but after about a minute she shut off. After that we could not get her to idle and I had to work the gas peddle to start. I was unable to get in touch with Anderson (left message). The only thing I can think of is the TPS crapped out at the last moment.
Could really use the help, tiring to get her up and running for next weekend.

yeah thats really helpful....

i'm trying to remember the names of the parameters on my PMS so bare with me if it's not word for word correct, been a while since i went through it. check your fuel start parameter. i have mine at -30 and this helps with hot starts to deliver less fuel. probably why it wont' start up right away for you. next have you measured and inputted correctly your TPS voltage? that will be very important when idling. next mess with the idle control. i've found that depending on the mods, you don't need the PMS to control the idle, turn it off and see if it helps. otherwise mess with the settings inside that menu. bringing the idle up to a high rpm first, then tweak the percentage value(can't remember what's it called) and slowly bring the idle back down. dont' expect the car to respond immediately, it will take a couple seconds for the changes to act. so go slow.

Actally, its incredibly helpful. Tuning with a QH will ALWAYS result in a higher quality tune than what can be achieved with a POS PMS. Not to mention the range of readily available help for the hardware.

SCT tuners can write a tune and it can be uploaded to the chip. E-tuners like myself can go over the datalogs and explain why XYZ does what. Ultimately, you aren't only paying for a tune. You are paying someone yo teach you how to use the item.

More on why my way is a good choice.

I can burn the OP a chip with a tune while he is waiting for his QH to arrive. When it shows up and he can make it function, I can e-mail him the tune to be burned into the QH. Then just return the chip to me and get reimbursed the cost of the chip.

I personally think its a damn good course of action. But I also can't stand that piece of shit that Anderson sells. It's almost as bas as a calibrated MAF.

First off I'm not changing to a QH, but thanks for the input.

So we got it to idle yesterday. First we opened the mechanical idle throttle body all the way and backed off the idle control a 3/4 turn. Double checked every thing for vacuum leaks good spark and fuel. I didn't reset my start fuel yet (its at -28). She cranked right over no problem. but idle way out and brought it back down to about 850ish. It jumps around a lot and I also noticed that my wide band was pegged out lean. My fuel press is at 40PSI and I was thinking of bumping it up to 50 and pump up fuel in the tune. My Part Throttle Fuel% at 2000 HL is 0 the rest is +4 with nothing in LL or ML. also nothing in my idle fuel %.

We stepped back re visited the TPS (got a new one) and re called it with the PMS. Everything seems to work gust fine know. Still need to adjust the tune for best O2. We also did everything in my prevues post. O2 holds at 14.5 15 A/F at idle and if I hold throttle at 2000 it reads the same, but when I stab it quick it trims back to 13 A/F. I might still put my fuel start at -30 since she needs a little help wormed up.

It is working better. Know it looks like I might have a vacuum leek. That should also help smuth out my idle and might help my A/F/R. I'll update when I fined out.

Well I fixed the vacuum leak, and I was able to get it to idle so I could check and set timing. Its a little better (idled great with the spout out) but when I took it around the block it jurcks and still lean. I tried giving it more fuel but didn't seam to help. The first thing I'm going to check is my fuel pump. I didn't here it at all when I drove it around the block. Its a two year old Holly 255 intake pump and work great before this biuld.

Question, if I bypassed the cpu control to the fuel pump I should be able to run the pump on a switch at 100% correct? I have a fuel return at the regulator.

I just don't think the comp is sending the right power/voltage signal to the pump.
