Get a hold of Ed Curtis with Flotech Inductions and have a custom cam ground for it. Its a little pricier than any off the shelf cam but you will be a lot happier with the results.

is having a custom cam shaft made from him that much better than an off the shelve one ? the reason I ask is bc my setup is very mild and I thought maybe his cam for my build was over kill and with the bolt ons I have I wouldn't need it.. whats the advantage of a ed Curtis cam and an off the shelf? and whats the difference besides price. anyone that has had one custom built from ed how long did it take to get ? anyone know his est time to get them shipped out ?? thanks again guys,,, def something I m gonna consider again now thanks..

Some cars do great with off the shelf cams. My cam is custom made for my car I'm pulling it tho . It makes no torque on my nitrous its pitiful . But makes great power n/a. The cam isn't going to be that much more then most off the shelf cams anyway the price difference is minimal. Mine was around 400 it's a solid roller tho . I have a custom Ed Curtis cam for a gt 40 setup the car made over 300rwhp and had good driveability.

When getting a custom cam done they make it to match the parts you're running and the style of driving you do. Just let them know you're wanting a nice street car outta it and they take that into consideration as well. My buddy had one done for his 347 and it runs great and makes nice useable power where you don't have to rev it to the moon. LoL

I read this on ed Curtis site saying These race style camshaft grinds will not work with factory computers without modifications and tuning. does this mean I just need to bring my car to get tuned after install ? do I have to do anything with my factory computer or will a tune fix that problem ?

When the car goes to get tuned. Your tuner will use a diablo , sct , moates or whatever brand and will burn you a custom chip while they dyno tune the car. I'm guessing your computer isn't tuned currently ?

You fill out a cam card with Ed, and he will whip somthing up for you. He has been producing the cam, AFR 165, systemax (or any intake for that matter) for quite some time. You tell him its a street car, and his cam will idle like a kitten.
