I have that baer 13" rear, had no problems with back locking up. I did have to grind down my groan brackets for it, might have to do it with the cobra rears as well not sure. I did a write up in the How To's section on here.

So whats the difference between the cobra and gt maon bracket??? isn't the cobra just taller ?

pretty much. the thing about the moan bracket is that it gets bolted onto the same location where the caliper is bolted onto (if you notice on those brackets, they have 2 holes on the flat surface, thats the part that gets bolted to the same spot as the calipers). since the cobra setup has the caliper farther away from the center of the rotor (for the bigger rotor), the GT moan bracket will no longer reach the caliper and you will have to replace it with the cobra one to make it work, or just not use one altogether.

o ok cool. I'm thinking of just piecing together the cobra rear deal.... maybe find the stuff on ebay over the next two years lol.

lol, go thru NAPA to get the brackets, last i checked they carried them and were cheaper than ford. and you have the same time schedule i have for mods, hahaha

So napa carries the brackets huh? that sound interesting.... might could buy everything from them huh :)

yeah, im actually surprised at how many parts i was able to find thru napa.

steeda actually has the FRPP 11.65" kit pretty cheap if you think about it. it comes with everything you need, moan brackets, mounting brackets, rotors, and the dust shields, all for $190. not bad, but it will depend on if you really wanted to upgrade or not, and if its worth it in your eyes.
http://www.steeda.com/products/cobra_rear_brake_rotor_mount_bracket.php

see what i mean? on this site, the brackets themselves are $170 for the pair
(either scroll down to about half the page and look for them, or run a search on the page [hit ctl-f and type in "caliper mounting bracket"] to find them)

holy shit wow, that is a nice setup... other companies was wanting 5XX.00 dollars for the kit :) and that was rediculous what they wanted for the braces.... anyway, i'll check napa and see what i can get the parts for and if it is over the steeda price then i'll go with that.

Its just that i want to feel up the wheel on my 95 r's and the rear is lacking in apearance and the fact that the cobra rear disk are vented is what i want... no more warped rear disk lol. Super nice. Maybe i can get them powdercoated with the front cobra ones. Thanks so much for the steeda site. Super nice.

I know Autozone carries powder coated caliper's, I would imagine Napa does also.

Naw, i'm going to rebuild the stock ones and then get them powdercoated. I had a bad exsperiance with parts stores "new" calipers.

zoom in on the rear brakes to see what the 11.65" rotors look like behind the 95 cobra R style wheels:
(ignore the paper'ed up windows...was getting the house ready to get painted. and notice the front brakes as well, im sure you'll like those ;D)

yup. the front cobra brakes will fill up the front wheels pretty much the same as the wilwoods fill up my front wheels (except for the calipers, of course), and the rear ones are the stock rotors. whatever you do tho, get the stainless steel braided lines. my friend got them on his 240sx and it made a huge difference. i have them on mine too, but i installed them at the same time i installed the wilwood kit, so i cant really compare the before and after effect of the lines alone.

What is NAPA charging for the rear Cobra brake caliper brackets? I paid like $150 from Ford 2 years ago and heard they were even more now...
I also heard that rear brake kit for the Cobra upgrade is on big time back order like everything else from Ford :) My buddy who is a Ford tech had to wait 9 months to get his 5 lug swap kit from Ford because they had a hard time piecing together the rear brakes.

depends on where you look for the FRPP stuff. summit and brothers performance usually have a good stock of things in their warehouse, so check with them first, and dont order over the net if you think they are on backorder, call them first to find out.

as for the brackets from ford, yeah, they are getting expensive now. dont know what they charge now, but the site i posted earlier wanted $170 or so both of them. just checked the napa website and it looks like they dont even carry them now.

how long ago did you get the head swap kit? i just bought mine this weekend, ordered it on monday and got it on thrus (couldnt make it in till sat to pick it up), but it was thru a local shop (GTR High Performance). i know they ship nationwide, so maybe give them a call and see how much for shipping and all that (if cjponyparts is on severe backorder), website is www.gtrhipo.com. their website is a little outdated, but they people there are really cool (tho the phone numbers are sometimes busy), or you could always try brothers performance (www.brothersperformance.com) or summit racing (www.summitracing.com)
