Day at the track!!!!

Well its not my own personal experience, but thought some of you V6 guys would like it. My father has a 01 stang. Recently we installed a shot of giggle juice :crazy2: and today he ran his best 13.55. His motor internally is stock with only a cai, sct tuner, and 3.73 gears. He laid down 267hp/385tq couple of weeks ago at delk performance.

It looks like he was only running a 50 shot

ya dad got lucky with his motor. NA it laid down 187hp/239tq with the cai and thats it. Its a strong running car!!!!

for whatever reason the 3.8s seem to LOVE nitrous.

They go from like 15s to 13s with a 75 shot. its crazy

01 gts should put down about 230 with 5 speed and autos like 210-215

and with a 75 shot of juice he should be trapping a lot higher than 100 mph....stock PI cars trap about the same.

good runs but it seems slow for what he has done...it kinda looks like he didnt keep his foot in it all the way cause his time is fast for 100 mph.

are you high altitude or something?

well justin, those are very good stats for an 01 GT. However my father has a 3.8L in his 01!!! we are located in KY and the dyno runs were made in Lebanon TN! Dont mean to sound like a dick and sorry if i am but this is a V6 thread and i was just posting up my fathers runs up to this point.
Any way last tues nite he went to bowling green and tried to better his numbers by using slicks. His times slow dramatically because the tires were too tall. Guess he's just gonna have to stick to the radials for now.
To this point we are very impressed with the rear end. Its a 7.5 rear with tlok and 3.73 gears. Its held up to alot of abuse!

the 3.8s LOVE nitrous for some reason

Its crazy how they can go from like 15.0+ to 13.5 with a 75 shot

You can get 26 inch tall slicks which would be about as tall as the radials

He must have had 28 inch tall slicks which would definately slow him down a good bit

It would be like going back to 3.27s

how much slower? like 13.8 I would imagine

Dad has 24" radials. They were cheap and he knew the shorter tire would help. But his best run was like a 14.04 or somthing like that. The slicks that we have are 27" tall. Ill probably use them on my car when i actually get it running.

dads 1/4 na time was 14.94. dont have the slip so couldnt really give anymore details. However that was on street tires before he sted some weight. He has a huge sub box in the trunk.

yea...sounds right for a 5 speed v6 with those mods..

1.5 seconds off the et with a 75 shot...
