Sorta cobra spoiler-ish. These photos are prior to it being wetsanded and cleared.

Ok hopefully one of you guys could help me out here. So this is what the trunk of my car looks like:
OPpFT.jpg

the asshole not only bolted it to the rear seat back but also the flooring which meant I had to pull out the speakers to remove the screws inside
OPuYJ.jpg

i removed the entire rear seat in hopes that I can slide the box out from this side but it won't go through!
OPCNS.jpg

how can I remove it? It's way too big to come out from the trunk opening, in positive they installed it from the cabin. But it's so tight it even runs against the speakers by the rear windshield.

Its insanely hot hot outside right now so I'm taking a break and posting here.

I foubd some disgusting things below that rear seat and need to cool off D:

What a bunch of fawktards they were. I love when people face boxes forward thinking it helps. It doesn't, it actually restricts the sound waves from hitting full potential before they make it your ears.

But good luck, last time I seen one smashed in like that it ended up coming out in pieces. Sometimes getting em in is way easier then getting em out.

It's nuts, at first I didn't mind it but I hardly use bass so it's just added weight. The box needs like another 1/2" of height to clear the rear seat opening. I bet removing the trunk floor will give me that clearance but that's difficult to remove as well. It's all wedged in there.

The trunk floor is 2 pieces and I managed to just barely wedge out this smaller piece. But look! As I expected there's a spare tire in there, pointlessly weighing me down. If I was stranded I would never even be able to get to it anyway!

Nope I tried turning it every which way but it's still jammed in there. I haven't been able to get the trunk floor out

Are you retaining any of the aftermarket stereo junk? If not, start unhooking wires from the amps and get it all out of the way. No sense in leaving it all hooked up and just trying to wiggle it around with wires attached.

I did unbolt the back seat, scroll up and you'll see the pics. I'm keeping the wiring in it for now

The last time I put a 12 in the trunk of my car, I had to remove the rubber trunk moulding and remove the striker for the trunk latch.

That's about the only way it's ever done. But he'd have to remove those amps and that cap first.

The box can't come out from the rear, it's too big to fit through the opening.

Defiant, you'd be surprised how much space it opens when you pull the weatherstripping and the latch out. At my shop we use to get em in like that and we could fight em out like that.

You have to lay the box on its back and find just the right angle.

So I got pissed and managed to bend the metal enough to fit the corner of the box through
OPb8y.jpg

you can see where they cut the metal so they can fit the box. Wouldn't you think that at this point, maybe just get a smaller box? If you need to chop the car up then you're doing it wrong.
OPUEw.jpg

OPdY5.jpg

Tight squeeze but with the help of a mallet I turned it 90 degrees
OPnFW.jpg

after a lot of wiggling and flexing of the metal I got it out. You can see how massive the box is when standing next to the lower seat half, see why it won't fit through the trunk opening?

Empty trunk that smells like a public bathroom

The box was SO heavy, at least 70 lbs empty. I figure it's all about 200lbs?

Gotta say the car feels way different, even just driving around town. It takes less throttle to get it going, engine braking now slows it down, and turning just feels better. It's definitely very noticeable. I did a pull up to 120 and I can't say it felt quicker but it did get there in good pace.

Now of course I gotta put the rear seat and trunk floor back in which is like 50-60lbs. Not keepin the spare though.

Also since I pulled out the sub my radio no longer turns on. So I got more wiring to do. Hopefully I can rewire the speakers because only 1 speaker ever worked on the car. If I can have all the original speakers working again I think that would be worth it over having a subwoofer. Plus now I have useable trunk space.

Aaahhhhhh........

I hadn't payed attention to it being a slot ported box. I thought it was a traditional slanted box.

My bad dude.

Do you actually use the back seat?? Or any plans to ever do a rsd??
