Don't have too many parts bought yet. But, thought I would start a money pit since more parts will be coming soon. Current plans are to boost my iron block NPI headed motor with a single 70mm turbo. I will keep boost at a low 6-9psi. (what would be a good psi with stock internals?) Also will replace the head gasket for good measure. I am gonna try to do all the work myself, hopefully I don't run into any problems that I have to take it to a shop. Future plans are to build a teksid block on the side with all forged internals and boost the hell out of it :)

Parts purchased:

* single 70mm turbo
* P.I. Cams
* Sct tuner
* Oil feed and drain lines
* Intercooler

Parts needed:

* Wastegate (I had purchased one but decided to return it and look for a higher quality one)
* BOV
* Intercooler piping
* Turbo manifolds
* Turbo exhaust piping
* Injectors
* Ignition Upgrade
* Fuel pump or a boost a pump
* Clamps, bolts, misc items
* MAF
* gauges
* turbo timer
* Boost controller
* Sponge for passenger seat to soak up juices (contributed by boostaholic)
* Tubular K-Member
* Rebuild my 5th gear and reverse gear grinding T-45

All my A/C parts and also gonna install some ceramic brakes with brand spanking new rotors. Not part of the boost build but A/C is a necessity in this hot ass Texas weather and my car is long over due for some new brakes.

Got the DOHC motor pulled out. First time ever pulling a motor out of a car. Next time I'm definitely draining all the fluids. I made a huge mess. Oh well you live you learn. Other than that the pull was not too bad.

Drove to my parents house the next weekend to pull the GT motor out. This process went way more smoothly now that I have "experience." haha

Here she is ready to load on the truck back to San Antonio to be sold. It sold pretty quick for $250.

The GT flywheel directly swaps over to the Lincoln motor as they both use 6 bolt cranks. It was in pretty rough shape so I took it to my machinist to see if it could be saved.

Came out looking great! only $25 versus the cost of a new one.

My Exedy clutch came in along with solid motor mounts. I figured I wouldn't be able to feel/hear the extra vibration because my car is pretty loud. The old rubber mounts were trashed.

Figured I would install a new rear main seal while the motor is still out of the car.

Cleaning up the stock T45. It also is a direct bolt on to the Lincoln motor.

You are required to swap over your GT oil pan as the DOCH oil pan has a extra little reservoir on the side of it and clearance becomes a issue. I also read to swap over the DOCH pickup tube. But, I put the GT and DOHC tube side by side and they are completely the same! Although the write up I read they were swapping over a 97 MarkVIII motor so they might be different that year.

I kept looking at these plain jane valve covers and decided to give them a different look.

Looks a lot better doesn't it? Ford racing blue goes a long way in changing your motors appearance.

how much power are you hoping to make once that turbo's in?

Unfortunately I sold all my turbo stuff. Except the exhaust piping. I figured the extra power from the motor swap would satisfy me for a while. I am planning on turbocharging the new motor. But, I don't know when I'll start that project. Probably once I get this motor running good and everything sorted out, I'll start looking for another turbo. If I still had the T70 turbo I probably wouldn't be able to make more than 400-450 safely. After that I would need forged internals. The difference between the MarkVIII and a Cobra DOHC are the MarkVIII has a 6 bolt cast crank piston and rods and the Cobra has a 8 bolt crank and forged pistons/rods.

This is what was going on yesterday. I bolted the trans on to the motor. I'm waiting on the transmission mount to arrive from CJ Pony Parts. No local auto parts store carries a mount for the T45 :/ I also need new valve cover gaskets and intake manifold gaskets.

The 95 MarkVIII motor comes with a rear intake mounted throttle body. Which is fine for the larger engine compartment of the Mark VIII, but clearance becomes a issue in a mustang engine compartment. I could of got a BFH and made it fit, but I didn't want to have dents in my firewall. So, I went to pick n pull and a pulled a intake off a 97 Mark VII they have a side mounted throttle body like the Mach 1s.

Here is the 95 manifold with the throttle body mounted in the rear. With the 97 intake you need the 97 IMRC spacers. Here you can see all the ports are oval on top. On the 97 intake they are oval and square.

Here are the 97 IMRC plates with oval/square ports. I'm gonna delete the throttle plates since I'm using the stock GT harness and computer. The computer does not have capability of controlling the IMRC plates. Some have wired it up to a window switch, but I figure it wont be too much of a loss down low. The 3.73s would make up for it somewhat.

Im mad that you didnt just turbo the NPI lol

The NPI is a solid foundation for boost really considering the low compression ratio. You could probably get away with 10-12 psi

Haha. Yeah. I don't miss the NPI at all and getting smoked all the time. I would of made 300-350 hp on max boost with the NPI. After that I would of needed forged internals.
