Stock by far. MSD Is about as good as what you leave in the toilet after a 15 min visit.

Really? Wow... I never knew MSD sucked that bad. I figured the cap and the rotor were at least an upgrade... learn something new every day I guess. So there is NO aftermarket dizzy or parts for the stock dizzy, that are better than just plain old stock??

Stock is your best bet with anything with electronics and if you do get something like a box then I'd go with Jacobs or accel. MSD used to be great but their quality has gone down hill the past few years. One of their boxes diesd on me a

So there isn't even like a better pickup coil to go in the dizzy? I thought accel had some kind of better innards or something... Maybe dizzy upgrades are only actually upgrades for my old chevy truck.

no stock are the best. there are 7 sec cars that still use a stock eec distributor and there is a reason for that. not saying that a aftermarket coil or a ignition box is not a good idea when you get past a certain level but leave the distributor alone.

Very nice. I'll run the stock dist forever then. But er... what about plug wires then? Would those 10mm wires still be a good idea? And also what about an aftermarket ignition coil?

i just use fms 9mm wires as they are easy to get locally. coil isn't a bad idea but unless there is something wrong with yours or you have a power adder or rev past 6000 rpms you won't notice a difference typically. when yours goes bad grab a aftermarket one.

I've had zero problems with MSD stuff on other cars. I've had one MSD distributor for over 12 years on my 1974 Nova. It did smooth out the idle a little and didn't break up in the higher RPM's like the stock HEI ignition did and a friend had an MSD distributor on his fox body for 5 years without a problem. Daily driven rain, shine, and snow.

I've had MSD products before and they have been fine it just seems like the newer stuff is not up to the quality of the older products.

I currently run an MSD cap, rotor, coil, and 6AL ignition box on my nitrous car. No problems. Unless the ignition box gets soaked with water.

I'm not trying to threadjack, but since his question has been answered I thought it would be ok to ask a somewhat related question. What is the timing supposed to be set at, on a stock 94GT? My chiltons book says 10 after TDC, but man that seems like a little much. Then again I have not timed very many vehicles.
