just got my dyno tune, and got 284 rwhp. I'm pissed. taking it to another tuner in a couple weeks...

stats of motor:

347 stroker, balanced and blueprinted
eagle kit with keith black flat tops
86 roller block clearanced for stroker
King bi-metal 3/4 grove main bearings
clevite h-series rod bearings
all ARP hardware
heavily ported windsor sr heads (have flow charts, around AFR 185 levels)
ported holley systemax 2 intake
custom bullet brand camshaft (have stats somewhere)
edelbrock 75mm fox throttle body/spacer
home made cai
custom chip- dyno will be done during thanksgiving break
have all paper work from rich at carquest in olathe, he built the motor and did the porting for the heads. will have dyno sheets available too. he had those heads on a 302 (maybe 306) and said it made 400hp by 6k, so this should be pretty healthy beast.

does this make sense? I am pissed at this point, my 306 with a holley systemax kit should have made around there and it didn't seem to have nearly as much "get up and go" when i drove it.

ya, i'm taking it to another dyno next week. i'm pissed. he didn't even print out anything either. I'll update hopefully if the other shop is open next weekend otherwise this winter...he got the afr ratio's and everything fixed, with a custom chip, but should def be better than that.

mustang dyno or dynojet? On a dyno jet that should make about 400rwhp 370rwhp on a mustang dyno. Just some guesstimates but if its 10% higher or lower someone is lying or something is off.

Your right those numbers are very low for your combo. my oem 302 short block H/C/I 94 Cobra does 308rwhp. does it feel like it's only 289rwhp?

well talked to the tuner today, he said that the dyno shows really low numbers...but idk still. he said it made 266, so i was wrong on that number, and on a regular dyno that would be around 300. i'm taking it to another dyno when i fix the radiator issue though just for laughs.

o ya, he also said that a cammed ls1 only makes 304 on his dyno...

Those are really low numbers, a h/c/i 302 can make those numbers....you should be seeing 350-370rwhp I would think.

ya found out the other day that my ignition system is barely giving a good spark, so i'm hoping that that had an effect on it. got new radiator, might be getting an msd 6al, along with new distributor and hopefully find out the problem within those. also looking at coil, just so i have everything replaced for good!

I've learned to use the dyno for tunning purpose only, the numbers don't mean sh!t!! The operator can make them read what ever they want. Don't take it personal. Continue sorting through the other issues. The only way to know for sure is taking it to the race track, the mph never lies!! You should be 115 - 118.

ya, i worked on it for 5 hrs today and still haven't found the starting issue....the tuner is going to diagnos the problem tomorrow and hopefully figure it out once and for all!

as for 115-118, what would that be in terms of time? I know i'll need better tires and maybe work on the suspension a little before i could achieve this anyway.

the times decode setup and driver, mph decodes power range. just like a dyno though they are not concrete. just a reference.

those numbers are low and a stock ls1 puts over 304 down and they accept cams very well so that is one crappy dyno Id say

but good luck with it man!
