Like what for example?

Canfields and tfs tw. Why? Because of the valve placement and better valve angle....they are a better designed platform to make power and give you more room to grow over the stock valve design of the afr's.

canfields off the shelf heads are the standard 20 degree valve angle, they do have a race head that is available in 18... that head serves no purpose on a stock shortblock 302.
tfs tw heads while they do have a 15 degree valve angle they do not make more power then a smaller standard valve angle afr 165 head.
for the afr haters in here they have been developing a canted valve 190 cc head which the last time i saw numbers on it had a 12 degree intake valve and flowed more then the current 205s...
carry on

Don't focus on the "cc" spec of the heads....there's more to it. tw 170 and afr 185's have a similar average cross sectional area size.
I'm not a "afr hater" as i bought a set for my old foxbody. They are decent heads but not end all heads like some people think. Those heads don't exist

BlkoutGT said:Hey guys I would like some opinions and what kind of heads to get. My original plan was to get a set of AFR 205s, ed curtis cam and probably a trickflow intake. But in the process of saving for the new heads Im not sure if I want to drop almost 2k on just the heads alone. So I was wondering how comparable are, say a set of Vic juniors to AFR? the Eddys are a bit cheaper, so that is a plus, but are the AFRs just that much better? and would the Jrs give me room to grow, for possibly a Turbo, and/or 351 sometime in the future. Any advise is welcome. Thanks.
