Hey Guys....what is the basic ET we could expect with a 347 10.7:1 compression afr185,cobra intake, stock computor and around 540-560lift cam,5spd,373 gears and what is the absolute highest rpm the stock computor can operate at. trying to build something to keep up with the new mustangs. Troy

cobra intake is going to kill the motor

lift doesn't mean much without the rest of the specs for the cam.

there is a factory rev limit and it depends on what computer you have for the exact rpm but that is easily removed. i've had a stock eec motor spin to 7000 on shifts.

too many factors but pick a # between 10-12

Ditch the cobra intake. With a GOOD intake, and tires you can easily hit 11s. I ran 11.90 to 11.80 with a 10.2 to 1 331 on a 331, 185s, and track heat intake. Add a 100shot on it and I ran 10.88. You have a potent power potential but that cobra intake will hold you back. This was all on a chipped stock ecu shifting at 6700

Power should fall off around 5500rpm with a stock cobra intake, ditch it like the others have said.

It won't even hold on that long. When I got mine it had the cobra intake on it (347, XE274/HR, Dart 195 heads, etc)...it fell flat at about 5,000-5,100. I went to a Victor EFI, Fox throttle body, 80 mm Accufab race TB, 4" inlet pipe, LMAF.
Now it pulls clean to 6,500, self tuned via SCT pro racer kit.

My car is FULL weight (for now), including 03 power Terminator leather seats, the spare tire, and sub box. At this weight, it ran 12.69 at 111 with a 1.89 60' (18" drag radial + poor track) at 4000 ft DA.
In good air it will run very low 12's. Everyone that was at the track that day was .3 to .4 slow due to the elevation and weather.
I'm considering selling it, but if I keep it, it's going on a diet and getting real rims/tires...11's should be easy.

For comparison I had a 3100 lbs (with me) Fox, with a 347/AFR185's/TFS2 cam/Victor intake/850 carb...that went 11.40 at 119 mph.
