Sorry if this is the wrong sub forum. But I didn't see one for "other" like some forums have. And being Ford guys I know you guys have F-150's out there. I'm having some trouble with my 05 2WD half ton, automatic, 4.6L truck. The passenger side wheel bearing died, so I replaced it with one from Oreilly's. Drove about 1000 miles, and now this one is dead. From what I can tell, it seems like somehow the bearing itself has separated and floated away from where its supposed to be stuck. If you know these trucks then you know that basically the part is ruined. Those things are pressed in. I didn't do anything special, just put the new part on. Is there something that I might have skipped, that can cause this?

If not, perhaps I should buy a motorcraft part from the Ford house next time? Is that even an option anymore?

I always replace my bearings with timken bearings. You can get em at auto zone. Made in usa and a level above oem in my opinion.

Yep, Timken is the way to go. I kept killing cheapie wheel bearings with the 37" race tires on the truck and after I switched to Timkem I haven't had a problem. I sold the 37" but beat the crap out of the truck on 35s and still no problems.
