I am fairly sure I thought I saw some of the headlight adjusters in the doorman help section at vatozone one day.

Well, decided to be semi productive today.

Set the oven to 265°. Placed a strip and a blob of miromoto butyl rubber in the oven for 1 minute on parchment paper in a cookie sheet. Pulled it out. Smashed the blob and worked it into the hole that the high beam low beam actuator cables go through. Then I took the softened strip and stretched it out to fill the channel of the headlight housing so it fills it but isn't over flowing like crazy since the lense will squeezea bunch out. (Make sure the housing and lense/projector are wiped clean!!!) Worked its way around then put the light into the oven it went for 7 minutes.

Once out I carefully placed the lense on and started applying C clamps. The butyl rubber squeezes out
20250104_135711.jpg20250104_140640.jpg

While drying I carefully pulled excess bits of butyl off that are hanging. If a piece of the plastiC housing is missing in the channel. I placed extra butyl there anD smoothed it over.

The results!! Voila!20250104_153218.jpg

Anddd yes.. this is in the background giving me a disappointed look. Lol, soon girl!20250104_153240.jpg

Does anyone know if the pypes or flowmaster foxbody LX tail pipes work with a center in center out muffler? Or will the tips be all Cockeyed? I see they offer flowtubes as well but the notation for the flow tubes offered on sites like Lmr say that they are for offset in mufflers as opposed to a center in.
Asking all these questions since I really want a bassani catback, but none are ever for sale used. A guy in NH area has a set of center in center out bassani mufflers so I'm wondering if I could piece meal together LX SS polished tail pipes, the mufflers and flow tubes and try to weld them together myself. I'm a rookie at welding so I'm not looking for something ridiculous to try and fab together.

Found an evening where it was 17° out do I went out and installed the HID harness and replaced my corner light pigtails. I wanted to do my headlight pig tails but I found the quality if the new connectors to be rather mickey mouse so I left the broken tabbed oem ones.

Here is a picture of the black head light with an oem corner. Meh..

Added clear black housing corners and the LED bulbs

And here is the light output aimed at 25 ft. I may drop them down a few inches, but noone flashed me so i think it is probably fine

The difference between these and the stockers is absolutely crazy. The black housing are still growing on me. I will try and bake apart the set I removed from the car in hopes of making a chrome orm looking set.

So no real good or exciting updates as of now. Green car is still in 1.5 million pieces. Heads are still at the shop so no v10 progress. Here are some pictures of the car though.20250220_162036.jpg20250220_161952.jpg20250311_071315.jpg20250311_071256.jpg

I sort of scored a Bassani 99-04 catback for $200 with an hr 20 minute round trip drive. Nice kid sold it, shame on him for cutting the over axle pipe when a band clamp exists 6 inches before it at the muffler. How lazy can people be??. It's a nut! And you smack the pipe off with a big mallet! 20250309_203337.jpg

I brought it inside and started cleaning it up with dawn, scotch bright red and never dull. A nice before and after comparison.20250313_175207.jpg

I might buy a pipe sander (because why not who doesn't want to spend 200 on a tool you might only use a half dozen time in life. And polish this tail pipes. Now obviously these tail pipes won't bolt right up to the 79-07 hangers and the slapped on new edge tips would look like doodoo anyway. I am considering either SS flowmaster 2.5" LX tail pipes(only tips polished to tire area) , Pypes 2.5"SS LX tail pipes that are fully polished to the muffler area. Or get an adapter and get the pypes SS full polished 3" LX tail pipes(big dick energy, son!) What do you think? Is the extra $150 and fiddling and possible clearance issues worth the look? The unique part of the 3" tail pipes is that each pipe is 2 piece with a band clamp so it offers an extra point of adjustment.

Let me know what you think. I will probably pair this with an LAR off road X pipe unless a good deal pops up on a non bbk x pipe.

My vote is for the Pypes 2.5” tailpipes. IMO the effort to make the 3” ones fit isn’t worth it, especially since it doesn’t do anything. Flowmaster makes a good product but I’ve been pretty impressed with Pypes products given they’re on the cheaper side.

You make a solid point there on the effort of the 3" pipes. I imagine they would rub on everything.

I suppose it comes down to pypes full polished 2.5 or the flowmasters with the tire back just polished

I've have a set of pypes and a set of flowmaster tails. The flow masters are made with thicker wall material and are very well built. The pypes use thinner wall material but are full stainless. Mind you the pypes set up I have is for an IRS while the flow master is typical above axle set up.

I had 3" on the '94 the PO put on. I didn't care for them, and was looking to buy the 2.5" ones from LMR before I sold it.

Good to know! They do sell SS flowmaster tail pipes but they're a hundred more than the pipes offering. Good info on the thickness of the material

Well I felt really inspired for no reason today since it was raining. So I went out in the rain and did this.. out with the old flowmasters20250405_174153.jpg

I wanted to save the tail pipes and reuse them but the pipes are aluminized steel and rusted to the mufflers. I used the Sawzall to remove them. After inspection the muffler baffles were rusted so badly that they loose and bouncing around in there. Never seen a muffler rot so badly lol.20250405_175544.jpg

Then in with the "new" Bassani SS flow tubes and mufflers dumped.20250405_174135.jpg

I hate dumps but the sound and tone is pretty wild with the off road H. I am excited to order some flowmaster SS or pypes SS 2.5" tails to put on. Then it will really sharpen up the exhaust note of the bassani mufflers. So far driving it around the block it sounded significantly less intrusive drone wise than the flows with the tail pipes.. which I think is a win. All in all it took an hour.

I ran Bassani on my old combo and loved it. Way less drone than flows and a serious bark at wot.

MaKing me motivated to order tail pipes. X pipe is probably 3 weeks out from shipping if I were to guess.

Unfortunately I need to Ball on a budget. So no bassani X for me.. it will be an LARperformance made in South Jersey. As for tail pipes. I'm trying to decide between the cheaper pypes kit or the flowmaster kit. The bassani mufflers are male and I am pretty sure both tailpipe kits are male IE "not flare for slip on" so I might end up having to weld them or try and flare them. And if I have to cut them up to weld I might as well add Vee bands and go for the cheaper pypes kit since it appears to be $130 cheaper
