98% of Officers/Deputies (we do have some a-holes) around here won't pull you over unless you do something stupid or unless they think you're involved in something else. I've never heard anything about being able to tell an Officer you're not gonna roll your window up, especially the part about them having to get a warrant. I'll have to look into that one...

Don't put illegal mods on your car, don't do anything stupid to attract attention, and they won't bother you. That's my view on it.

cops dont need a warrant to ask you to roll up your window. Warrants are for search's unless they have probable cause and in that case a warrant is null and void.

Warrants generally don't apply to vehicles anyway due to them not having a reasonable expectation of privacy, as well as the fact that they are mobile and can easily move out of the county in which the warrant was drawn. Warrants only apply to 4th Amendment searches and seizures...

Another thing people don't think about is that dark tint is a safety issue to Officers, especially at night time cause they can't see what the occupants are doing (holding weapons, etc). They just wanna go home to their families at the end of the day like anyone else.

Some of you should be lucky you can even have tint, we have NO tint allowed on the front windows here in NJ.

its my understanding that a warrant IS needed to search a vehicle without the owners permission. how they go about this is, if you say NO, they tow your vehicle to the impound lot at your expense while they warrant is issued, and then they search it anyways.

i'd like to see someone tell an officer "no i'm not rolling my window up for you"........

i think some people forget that "most" police officers arent out to get them, they are there to protect and serve..... and should be given as much or more respect than you'd give anybody else.

As I said earlier, my car is loud as hell, AND to boot is bright yellow. I have not had ANY issues with the cops and my car is daily driven. It's simple, don't act like an idiot on the road by fish tailing, letting RPMs get high, and just drive sensible. I have no smog equipment and no cats, emissions aren't a law in my province, but we have a tint law that we can't have tint on the front windows(driver/passenger side front and actual front). My brother has had the 3 back windows on his old Probe GT tinted to 5% for years and never got hassled, same with his newer RSX, same tint. My friend though, who used to have a lancer with the front ones tinted to like 50% got a ticket for it because he was driving like an idiot(cop never caught radar on him, but he was well over speed limit).

ive gotten pulled over a few times and never did they mention the tints. i dont have the rear done yet, but the sides are pretty dark. heres a pic.

ive also heard the sun visor decal thing is illegal in NY too. or it has to be a certain length. or a decal.

my cousin has SALEEN on his 88 and they made him take it off. but that was upstate NY im in suffolk county

Did the cop ask you to slide up your windows to he could see them? Because you don't have to and if you say no he can't do anything until he gets a warrant and most cops won't even bother, same goes for them asking you to pop the hood.

here is california you must open your hood for an officer. Trust me, i know this stuff

just be nice when you get pulled over. I have no mufflers and tinted tails and I'm always respectful to the officer and I've never had one say a word about my tint or exhaust. You usually cant win with a lady cop though. They have something to prove

Iowa is tough about tint laws. Especially tails. It looks like absolute poo so you should take it off anyways.

Also you knew the legal tint limit so you knew this was going to happen when you blew the limit out of the water with your tint.
