GT40 setup, and CARS program question?

I have found a nice gt40 setup at a junkyard, I know I'm grabbin the upper and lower i/m and the heads. I know the throttle body is bigger but needs to be modified. Is the maf any bigger? Should I at least grab the housing peice from it, and put mine into it? I can put a cone filter on it that way... The car is from the whole cash for clunkers thing. I know they run the glass silica stuff in it to destroy the motor, but I was wondering if the heads get damaged from this as well? I dont want to waste my time pullin them just to relize they are destroyed? Does anyone know for sure??? Thank you, Bobby.

I thought that the junkyards weren't permitted to sell the engine or trans?

Either way, I wouldn't buy any internal motor parts from a motor that has had forcibly been reduced to viscosity breakdown.

That's what I thought too, it has a tag on the engine saying it was part of the program, but nothing stating that I can't pull the parts. thank you paul, I was hoping you would chime in on this :thumbsup: Do you know about the maf on them?

Your stock MAF is 70mm so you shouldnt need this one.

Okay Thank you droptop. I'm going tommorow, hopefully I will be able to find a set of gt40's to go with the manifold :dontknow: Is there anything else I should grab off of it while I'm there?
