I ment factory wise. The other to cars had a KB and Saleen SC's. Sorry for the confusion.

Ahhhh, I gotcha. :thumb:

Whats the use of all that power if your not going to use it? Just to brag?

Yep, pretty much. You'd be surprised. It's like people who want to do the biggest, craziest setup possible in order to make 650 rwhp, just so they can say that they have the big and crazy stuff, when there's much more economical and easy/simple ways to go about it.

People like to feel important and big.

In any event though, a car that puts down 700 to the tire, and the same car that doesn't put down 700 (the GT500 example earlier) will not even be close. The one that makes the power will win.

Thats what I was wondering if it had a stock tranny in it. If it did that is VERY impressive.

Eh, i doubt it was a stock trans, lol. I would bet, it's a glide.
It's not. I just picked up the most recent MM&FF. They had he car in it, but it was when it was running high nines. It has a 9in rear. And the trans is not an OE one. I'll post up all the info if people are interested.

At the end of the day, it's a $150K car that runs 8s. Yay.

Thats modulars for you. Expensive, can be quick, you just really pay for it.

whats with the th400? You'd think they'd run a c4/6 in it.

TH400's are a better transmission, and handle higher RPM's better than a C4 will, and they are significantly lighter than a C6.

My bud's TH400 in his gto (67') is pretty tough, so I can understand that. Seems like the general has managed to build better motors and transmissions over the years, but can't build a rearend worth a shit since the 12 bolt lol.

Haha, I'd agree with that.

I think the "understood" comparison is that if it's related to chassis and aesthetics, Ford has always been better. When it comes to driveline parts (minus rear ends) GM has the upper hand.

Funny, the 8.8 bear's a suspicious resemblence to the 8.5 10 bolt... BTW, neither Ford, nor GM build rearends, AAM does it for Chebbie, and Visteon does it for Furd.

But the 8.5 10 bolt still isn't the 8.8. Besides, Chebby guys ditch that for the Ford 9" anyway.....

Once again, the 12 bolt is the only rearend chevy ever made that could sort of handle the power. The 9" and the 8.8 have proved themselves over and over again at the races. The 9" is a killer setup with the 3rd member being able to be swapped in minutes, dramatically changing gear swap and center chunk swaps.
