Bassani catted x hooked (temporarily) to welded in flowmasters that came with the car. I'm eventually getting either a Bassani or Borla catback. Sounds great, good power gain, it'll be even better once I get the new catback

The 98 has an H with Flow 44s......The 89 has a BBK X and Flow 40s

Since both are flow. What do you like the most??? Your 5.0 sound or 4.6?

I have stock manifolds, with a MAC O/R H-pipe, and Dynomax catback, I like the sound of the H, but not the Dynomax, it's to quiet. I'm going to eventually get the Magnaflow catback.
I got my H-pipe at AMP performance in Phoenix. they delievered to my front door in 3 days(i live in VA) Plus i got a military discount

BBK Catted H-Pipe with MAC catback. The X-pipe sounds good but I like the sound of the H better. Usually IMO H-pipes sound best on 5.0's and the X is good with a 4.6 (Like Matt said)

I like both, but if i had too choose, it'd be the 5.0. My 98 is stupid loud, i couldnt imagine how bad it'd be with an X....Later today ill try and make a vid so yous guys can decide which you like......BTW, theres a vid of my 89 in the Multimedia section, check it out!

I went with the bbk equal length headers that I've had before. Decided on a bbk off-road x-pipe. I liked the three chamber flowmasters with h-pipes in the past, so I went with them, all 2.5". Man, it is quiet at idle and just screams under hard accleration, and it sounds like an exotic if you let it decel in gear (lots of cackle). It isn't for most, but it sounds pretty wicked with the vortech whine and the 331ci stroker. I think the cackle noise would probably deter most from this setup.

I had an X, it sounded like crap, I run an H now.

Sure you had an X but it was offroad with LM1s..... ^-^

I've got a Pypes catted X. X pipes sound best to me with a straight through muffler, h pipe for chambered.

I had flows with that X also...it was EXTREMELY raspy, and made a god awful sound between shifts.

I like H, and for the minimal difference in HP, it whatever sound you prefer.

DOHC, JBA's, Dr. Gas O/R X, Bassani Cat-back -- unreal sound.

I'd have to agree....

On my GT I'm running BBK 2.5 in. LTs, Dr Gas X and Spintech Sportsman XL mufflers. A little quieter than most would expect in regular driving, but screams nicely when I get on it. Not too loud, but not stock sounding either. Always gets attention and compliments.

The Cobra has a ProChamber and flows.... for now. :thumb:
