that might happen Im not sure yet. Debating on doing higher compression pistons or not since this would be the best time to do it. Just have to look at the cost of all if it first before I decide.

Thanks Steven. Maybe one day I'll put it back to stock but not before I see an 11 second time slip with it. It will never be a 100% stock R engine anyway, I'll never find the actual upper/lower intake that came on the R. Could always get another 351 lower and put a cobra on it but that's probably as close as it will get. The only 95R intake Ive ever seen sold for sale is off 95R Engine #1 which has never been installed in a car and is just kept on a stand. It shows up for sale from time to time up in Windsor Canada. Not willing to spend 10K + just to get an actual upper/lower intake

I said to put it to stock because thats what makes his car unique. The drive train in that car and with the certificatons he has for it makes "special" and when you mod that 1 of 1 factory special, it becomes more "domesticated" i guess is teh best word. Either way, cant wait to see this sled run next year!

UPDATE: 10-3-10

With my current pistons and the Trickflow 205cc heads with 65cc combustion chambers it will give me a compression ratio of 9:3 which is much better then the 8:4 I was getting with the AFR heeds which has 72cc combustion chambers. So with that said the pistons will be staying in and if I have any PVC issues Insky makes a took that can cut valve reliefs with the engine still in the car.

Powder coating the parts I want shouldn't cost more then $250 and After some back and forth E-mails with Accufab the 1 3/4 headers for the 351 will run me $555 with the 02 bungs welded in. I'll be saving up for the second half of what I'll need for the Trickflow heads then I'll be getting the Long tubes then the powder coating will be done and finish it up with some odds and ends stuff like 02 extension harness for the LT's and new spark plug wires and such

Not to much left for me to do right now. Will clean the block up more this week where the heads sit getting any left over coolant/oil off it. Then its not to much going on until I have the new heads bought then I'll have pretty new pics to post up.

Upper intake would be the difference :p. I was going to say, if your getting just the brackets done, you're really getting ripped off. You'll love the look of PC'ed brackets, really makes the front of the engine look "clean".

Got around to repainting the dizzy today. Going to have all the brackets and everything else looking nice and pretty soon enough. Also decided to go with a set of 240cc Trickflow High Port heads set up by Ed Curtis for the new cylinder heads. Should be buying those when I get my tax return back.

yup sure will, and with the High Ports Accufab said I should pull 15-20 more HP with the long tubes so thats a plus as well. With the lower combustion chamber heads and better exhaust I hope to pull somewhere close to 370 at the wheels. The heads are more then what I planned on spending but they are coming w/ the proper valve springs and valves on them for my cam and having some work down to them to get the compression lower and all for about $500 cheaper then I can get them at summit racing w/ none of that work done on them

Started to strip the upper intake today to save some coin when it comes to powder coating it.

These are just w/ the stripping wheel on a drill

What color are you going to have it powdercoated? Also, I dig the painted distributor. Keep up the great work!
