to me it sound like your idle stop screw was set to have ur throttleblade open to far to compensate for the mods until the chip was burned for your car,and then the idle screw WAS NOT set back down and your car began to ping because it was constantly under load and or bad gas...have the car in idle and turn down that screw until the idle in neutral or park is just under 1k, should help drivability too

well, the car doesnt ping anymore but the idle is still getting on my nerves. Now, since i removed the chip, not only does it idle surge, it dies now. Meh, what are you gonna do. I had a mechanic set the screw right (i hope) he also tested the sensors and i guess theyre fine since he didnt recommend that i replace them. Ill probably drop it off at my mechanics shop tomorrow. Its starting to get on my nerves. Not to mention the whistling coming from what i assume is the GT40 intake. PLUS my radio doesnt work so all i hear when im in the car is whistling and high idle! It does feel better though.....

No he is not. But he can prob burn a new tune to your chip.
Although im.not.verry familiar with the whole burning process, american muscle has offered me free tunes for life. But I feel like my car can't be fixed by someone who hasn't seen it.
No offence......

the guys from AM dont have a clue what they are doing. they have a check list that they refer to when you post XYZ mods. then the load a template.

I actually take the time to craft each tune. You aren't offending me. Your concerns are based purely on ignorance. You dont know just how easy it is to tune these cars because, well... you haven't done it.

At the end of the day... it doesnt effect me, if your car runs or not. I was only offering my assistance.

So here's where I'm at so far. I did the base idle reset. Reset the screw on the tb. Set timing and the idle surge went away. Now it dies and runs a little sluggish. Since this is my first sn model mustang, I figured since it was a 302, it was going to look like that of an 87-93 but after looking for parts online , I noticed that the parts I'm looking for don't match up to what I have on my car now. The previous owner switched out the top part of the engine with fox stuff so I guess my tb and iac and all that good stuff it needs to breath are from a fox. So apparently people swap these out. I'm starting to wonder if he switched out the tb cable and bracket. That needs to be switched out too right?

Before making any more assumptions, post a picture of your engine bay.
