Do any of you, by some odd chance, have access to the inside of a 1998 mustang gas tank? Maybe someone has pictures inside? I am about to move my fuel pump back in to the tank and I want to do a Holley hydramat, but I need to see inside the tank and get some measurements so I can order it.

What I have read is people cut the basket out to keep from starving the fuel pump.

Will you just need a louder stereo to cover up the sound of the pump. [emoji38]

You’re absolutely right. It screams race car and then I run an 11-12 second 1/4 mile.

Poser.....

I think we all know that you have bigger plans for that car than to just leave it at the power level it is.

11-12 seconds for a daily driven 20+ year old car doesn’t make one a poser.

At the levels of volume that my fuel pump creates, I am a poser lol. When you hear this pump, you expect a fast car. Then you get this.

Let’s be honest though. We easily seem to forget the days where a 11-12 second sn was a fast car.

Kinda like vehicles with a Pete Jackson gear drive. You hear it and expect a blower under the hood. Then sad to pop the hood and no blower.

But damn did it sound awesome!!!!!!! [emoji38]

That’s true. I used to run a gear drive on my old 400 trans am. Had a 292/292 lunati cam (full rave came, none of that 3/4 cam crap) in it. Sounded like a monster lol.

Best friend in high school was a Chevy nut. But he always had a thing for the mid 80’s Ford rangers. The galvanized bodies were solid and had good lines.

So he bought one and we dropped in a 383 stroker we built with his dad. We put on the noisiest gear drive PJ made at the time. The truck made over 500hp with the high compression and good ol turbo blue. Truck was painted classic corvette white. Tailgate was airbrushed “Built Ford Tough With Chevy Stuff”

People always expected a supercharged 302 till they either seen under the hood or noticed the tailgate. That truck almost got us killed many times. [emoji38]
