My driver side mirror (the glass itself) is a bit jiggly and can be a little annoying on bumpy roads. My passenger side doesn't jiggle at all. I remember seeing a post previously with someone stating that it has to do with the adhesive connecting the glass to the mirror's internals.

Have any of you dealt with this and can share some information that might help? Probably going to just take one apart and see what I can find, but figured I'd ask here first.

If it were me I'd just replace the entire mirror assembly.

Not exactly an option when you have painted mirrors ^

I have the same problem on my drivers side one and it's annoying as shit. It vibrates to the music and you can actually hear it.

If i hold it with my finger it stops.

There IS a so simple way to fix this! Turn the mirror all the way to one side so your fingers can get behind it....grasp the mirror with both hands if you can from the middle & one end then sharply tug it off! It is built to do this with a solid plastic back that is pretty strong.... you will then be able to see the contact points where it mounts to the motors...Get some RTV & dab it on all the contact points generously & line up the mirror & push it firmly back on!!! I let mine sit for 24 hrs to set up & it solved the problems 100%...been good for a few years now...cost me $zero bucks as I had the RTV! Don't be scared you won't break the glass unless you drop it! LOL...

legend has it... (key words in this post) that you can pull the mirror off (which I know you can do, its in the ford service manual), dap silicone on the contact points, then re-attach the glass.

I've *never* tried it. I have *no idea* if it will work.

I know it does come off. Had it happen on my passenger side by accident. Didn't snap in all the way and I lost it on track. I snapped a spare mirror on and it completely stopped the shake.

Mine used to do this on my old green sixer. I could never get the mirror to stay in position either. I would adjust it to where it needed to be and then by the time I made it to my destination, it was way off again. I think the wife ****ed it up when she was windexing the glass one day and pushed too hard.

I was going to do the RTV silicone thing and ended up putting it off. One day, I backed out of the garage and wasn't paying attention. I took the whole mirror off.... guess it was time to replace it anyway. :deeplist:

And if it doesn't work I am going to ship you the pieces I broke off yanking on the damn thing, along with a frowning face drawn on a post-it. :D

i popped my glass off and their are three i think phillips head screws, they get loose over time, one of mine was almost a quarter turn loose, just snug em up and put the glass back on, i did the fix when i painted my mirrors. no more shaky mirrors.
