Do you have an estimated completion day? Or month for that sake lol

Thanks Ferocious I appreciate it! I dont have a completion date and I kinda dont want to set one, technically the car is already supposed to be done but thats life it gets in the way some times. Id like to have it done before Nov.ish. If I can get the stuff done here I want to get done then it should go alot smoother when I do take it in to a shop.

started working on the roll cage this morning, kinda shitty cause i left it out in the open as my car ports are in use at the moment and it doesnt have wheels till Mon. so started bright and early at 6am. First we started with the floor

this is what it looked like before we got to spraying it after hitting it with a wire wheel and polisher

got it all masked off then shot some primer on the floor then hit it with satin black, the floor wont be anything special just trying to seal the metal mostly.

looks pretty good ran out of paint before we could get both sides done so ill be at it tomm morning to finish it up, cant work in this 100+ heat =(

heres a teaser of the color the cage will be

that was just a tiny spray before anyone talks poorly about it, but itll match the hood and the side plates on the wing when i get it all done up. more pics inc tomm.

thanks for the response for me Ganzey, yeh im shooting for low low 8s possibly a high 7 if i can squeeze it in. That being said this is not the purpose of the car to run it on the edge constantly. ill go for that slip then pull it back to run around 8.50s if not a little bit slower to run in the local stuff were the fastest you can go is 8.50.

ive always been a fan of colors that pop and clearly the kawasaki green on black pops, plus its different not everyday you go to the track and see a drag car with some real eye popping colors on it. if anything i always thought going with a well thought out LOUD looking car would attract sponsors than a plain black one would, or mayhaps a magazine cover >.> <.< =)

thanks dood, yeh i plan on running 2 go pro cams one on the cage inside so you can see me driving and one outside pointed backwards so you can get a good view of the losers.

im going to have to disagree and challenge you to thunderdome fight me TTOCS! your shoes like your rims are whats fancy on your feet you get different ones and you change em around, while there are some fancy socks i think it makes more sense to call em shoes and the tires are then the socks cause there bleh.

Well over a year with no updates, that's not good.

I have to confess all that my financial situation like I'm sure alot of you gys goes through up's and downs. I won't complain as things are starting to stable out. My girl just passed her bar and is already working for the state in preparation to taking on an atornee position. I have also started my business in the form of EMPIRE Mtrs. I'm currently picking upa part time job not because I need one because at this point I could literaly live off of my future wife but that's not me. It will be driving parts for shops so no biggie 20 hours a week no sweat. I also had some fantastic news in that a friend from CHicago that I grew up with and worked and raced with me now lives but a few minutes from me after nearly 7 years. So it looks like I have my other set of hands I've needed to tackle bigger engine and car builds/ I'm ready.

Now as far as the Cobra, well it has received some new parts. I finally finished getting both of my Procharger Big Red Race BOV's that I need to not surge the blower. Also have the nitrous kit for it sorted it out as well as the water box and pump for the water/air intercooler. Also have the fitting I need for the Fragola push lock lines I will be running. Since the last time I posted here a few things have been added like my M.I.A strutless aluminum drag wing. I've put my wheels and front runners on. Also have the setup to run the battery in the rear NHRA legal style.

I can also say with all honesty that my attn. is split on other peopls cars as well as my passion for my SVO which seems to be getting alot of my attn. finishing my Dads '68 was huge too although I know deep down the Cobra should take presidence. The truth is this I'm done giving ideas on when its getting done. I know it's soon lol this time I mean it, it will atleast run. It may not be out racing but running for this moment is ok with me. I can promise a video soon of it loping and cogging and air and all kinds of things happening.

Now here's my rant. Since I've started doing Empire seriously I get contantly people asking questions about people wanting to build cars like mine. Their attitude is HORSEPOWER **** YEAH. I'm here to tell you that is NOT the way to go into this, I sure did when I started and it;s take this long on order to realize better planning would have been better. YOu all need to realize that building an engine is just the tip of the iceberg when building a true race car. Anyways as always I''m here to help so regardless I'll do what I can to help. I have a few pics I can show =) I will do my best to keep this updated with actual updates i.e parts or work.
