Lets pretend you just bought a 6'r, badged it Cobra and dropped in a carbed 351. 400rw or more 15mpg moderate compression and an engine it only takes a weekend to fix if anything breaks.

I like the way you think.

Thats michigan thinking for you ;] where street cars run 10s and tracks cars run 8s

i have friends with street cars today that are running 7s. rediculous how fast some cars are today

look at the power tour and sso cars. a lot of them make 30+ mile cruises then run scary fast times on 10.5" tires

I'm pretty sure I'd win in a gunfight... I haven't lost one yet.

I take offense to Cobra badged V6's and EFI Pwns Carbs. Matter of fact I take offense to anything badged a cobra that's not a cobra lol

What does it matter what it's badged when your still sitting at the tree not realizing what happened? ..oh crap, I just got annihilated by a fobra. Only people who over play the importance of a SVT would think that way. SVT is not that impressive, it's not that limited, nor is it even that expensive. It's just a car that costs a little more and has a few less. It reminds me of the saying, "Just cause it's old doesn't mean it's an antique,"

Modified cars matter, production stock does not. If the Cobra was so glorious and perfect, then owners wouldn't mod them.

The man makes a good point. Depending on how you look at it, its only a name with a few more horses from the factory. But who gives a shit how your car is from the factory. I'll always love something i built more then something i bought.

Beat me to it...if some of yall are going to punch anyone in the mouth or "shoot" someone, it should be your engine builder or self b/c the times some of these "precious svt's" is not impressive. Its that kind of d-baggery that makes me just sit back and laugh. Cobra's ain't nothing...and before someone says "yeah well you run bla bla bla with how much money bla bla bla." It doesn't take much to wear out any SVT....They're not that elite. Just saying fellas....you're heads are getting a lil big

All in fun

Why do people put Cobra Badges on a non cobra then?

Why do people put cobra rims on a non cobra? Why do people put Saleen rims on a non saleen? Why does a bear poop in the woods? They just do man. I can't comment man. But IMO if you can up the ante on the car you're looking to be, whats the problem?

Who said anything about in a drag racing situation? I take offense to it just b/c its wrong to do it. Bumpers..fine...rims...fine...hood..fine...badges?? No

It bothers me that people throw the rice card around all over the place and call something like an WRX thats not an STI but has STI badges on it rice but they think nothing of it when a GT or V6 stang is rolling around w/ cobra badges. Its a double standard.

It does not matter how few or how many cobras are produced what matters is that you can get no build numbers for a V6 or a GT b/c they are so mass produced. It does not matter that the cobra came w/ a few more HP (which is a moot point w/ the extent of modifications done on both sides) its just the fact that its not as common of a car and its harder to come by over all and it also holds value more so then a GT. There are lots of things that make a Cobra what it is but making those points on the internet wont change a few opinions. I'm just trying to make the point that anyone that puts cobra badges on ANYTHING thats not a Cobra Mustang is a poser douche. There is a difference between flattery b/c you like how something looks, and trying to pull off that what you have is in fact what your trying to look like.

If it matters so much why did you modify your Cobra? Why wouldn't you leave everything the way it comes from the factory right down to the factory tires.

Good lord guys lol I just noticed this thread exploded.

Truthfully I just like the feeling of owning a Cobra, for personal gratification more than anything else. I have been considering buying a GT as a DD but I wouldn't want to build a DD.
