Company I work for makes carbon fiber brakes for jets, indy cars, helicoters. The process is totally different though! They bake this stuff at 4000° for 4 months!
Thats a long ass bake cycle!

That would burn the cookies for sure...

Blows my mind how they got all this figured out. This stuff use to be woven like most we see with CF panels. They found a much stronger process! Pretty neat!

You got the heat part right. Incredible enough to turn then glowing white. Heat is the basic process. How its heated and what they use while heating is complex. The secret is how the CF product is born. Very tough although only within its engineered environment. Any other use would be brittle. Pioneered aircraft braking!

Side note, this carbonfiber oxidizes very quickly!
