Maybe you guys can help...

Ok, so when I bought my mustang, it had the AODE automatic. It seemed to shift way too early. What it would do is, harsh shift too early, which would drop the RPM's and bog the motor down. Well one day i decide to buy a bottle of Lucas, and it worked for about 10 miles then back to normal.

Well this week I picked up a 4r70w that was recently rebuilt. I installed a B&M shift kit and swapped the internals into my AODE. When I got it back on the road, its doing the same thing. Well it had some vacuum leaks and concerns....namely the fact that it doesnt have the power it should. I suspect something computer related, does anyone have any info/advice?

Hook it up to a scanner and see if it has any tranny related codes . Did u do that yet ?

It is obd1, when i got it i had an intermittent CEL.... so intermittent in fact that it took me a week to finally get it in the shop while it was on. It turned out to be a o2 sensor which eventually quit throwing a code all together. I forgot to mention that i am in school for automotive and i hooked it up to our mac mentor via the eec, and that o2 sensor was the only code.

Also in case it helps, i also used all the servos and the valve body from the 4r70w. Before i bought the new transmission we dropped the valve body, cleaned it changed the gaskets and filter and still had he same problem. It did the same thing with a dirty valve body, clean valve body, and a new valve body...im running out of ideas.
